Manson is just a product of the Marketing Dept of his Record Company. All his behaviour and stage games were invented by marketing executives who know that you can sell lots of records this way. He tears-up Bibles because someone pays him to do it.

Thought-process:
"What bands sell lots of records?" - Guns'n'Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.
"How easy it is to copy this stuff?" - Very easy.

However, you will never find a REAL thought-rebel recording for a major record label, because the labels like to control all aspects of the product. George Michael's label even made him pretend to be a macho sex-symbol when he was gay....

Manson is the outward appearance of rebellion, but inside - nothing.

Well, the big machines behind some artists is pretty huge but as far as I can remember, I think he & his band started out pretty small. Maybe its his ****edupness that brought him where he is today. I believe hes got beliefs, & perhaps all this is a matter of attracting peoples attention, otherwise, I dont think hed sell himself like you say he does.

I'm not a fan of his music..his videos are a little disturbing to watch,but i've seen him interviewed on t.v.,and he seems very intelligent..and well read.I have nothing against him or his views.

he is a nominally intelligent man. he debates intelligently and is more than halfway aware of the world around him. he seems to have a complete separation from his work and personal life. his work, as everyone has cited is not mainstream. he does alot of crazy things and puts on alot of makeup. manson is making a buck his way. and those of you who accuse him of using teenagers to make money - what does the rest of the world's pop artists do?
