personally, i do not see how someone like reznor, who has been at this forever, could have all the unresolved feelings that he has. it just seems to me that he would have gotten over his anger by now.

i do, however, enjoy the music of trent reznor, and maybe a few by manson. his music is not baseless and pointless as others may have observed.

perhaps, but it is very possiblr for anyone to suffer depression at any stage of their lives, and also it is obvious that money and suces do not guarantee happiness. Trent Reznor recorded 'The Downward Spiral' (my favourite NIN album) whilst depressed and disillusioned and i think that it shows. One of his favourite songs - hurt - came about when he was at one of his lowest points. So, i believe that it is possible for these musicians to have genuine angst which they portray in their music.

I just want to say that I only recently started to understand him. His concerts are so contreversial, but the people who go to them and cheer at him riping up the bible... he really doesn't like them. A friend of my went to his concert and at one point Manson almost started a fight with his fans. Don't you ppl see how ironic his image is? Watch "Natural Born Killers" to understand a Manson a little more. By overdoing his acting so much he is trying to show us what we have come to love, what we think is so cool. Altough I think recently he has been going more and more commercial, but I started listening to him when I was 14. Didn't listen to him for 3 years now and let me tell you at 18 I do see his songs a little diferently. His music really has a lot of thought in it at least his older albums ("Mechanical animals" is my favorite.). Anyway his freak show concerts are just a way to show us our world in perspective.

Well, I must say I like your opinion. & I like you open-mondedness as well
Its been a long while since Ive listened to Marilyn Manson or read his lyrics. Im kinda outta his stuff but I believe he is a very smart and conscious man. Of course, hes had his own deal of family and personnal problems but I feel they are dissociated from his being on stage.. I would understand his point in everything hed say but Id hardly understand why hed go this far..Why hed have to shock people this much.. I guess it simple is part of his personnality. It is obvious that we dont understand him, that he come shocking our values and some people are scared of him because of this.
I wish people knew more about this man and that they wouldnt judge just on how he looks..
I think he has bright things to say and we would be grateful if we even listened to it just a tiny bit.

I like Manson. Why? well because there is no other band that sounds like them, 1. He has some pretty interesting thoughts, 2. He is very unique and artistic.

Now to you haters out there... Your more likely to be Christian or Catholic (but what the f*ck is the difference?). But anyhoo, from my X-catholic knowledge the MAJORITY of religious people are VERY ignorant. I qoute from my first communion class: Me "What about other religions?" My teacher "OH NOOO! You must stay away from them they are the devil's work." Christianism has a stained history filled with ignorance and none-intellectual activity such as Salem Witch Trials, The Spanish Inquisition, and a couple more i cant remember. So anyway over the time i asked myself "How can there be a god...There is no proof, and it would be scientifically and realistically impossible". Hence i became an atheist. And when i tell people what i am they immediatly say "Then you worship the devil right?" just shows more ignorance. So to clarify this for you an atheist is a person who does not believe in any sort of religion, not even the devil. Plus i am not an entire atheist, i believe in some stuff like: Philosophy, Poetry, Science, Medicine, Art, Pasifism, Reality, Morality, and that stuff from religion usually symbolizes something and isnt always a true event.
Here are some examples:

God = Fate or Destiny
Jesus = Hope
Adam before the apple = Neandrathal or primitive man
Adam After the apple = some corrupt dictator like Stalin
Apple = All the negative attributes found in human nature
Eden = Natural Paradise before man built cities and destroyed these paradises

In the bible it said that the forbidden fruit gave intelligence. (Let me bust out Yoda) Intellegence leads to domination over the primitive. Domination over the primitive leads to Power. Power leads to Dictatorship.
Dictatorship leads to chaos. Read Animal Farm and you will know what im talking about.

Now if you stop being so ignorant and take time to look at what satanist actually believe in...its not all bad. They believe that every human and animal are equal, 1. They believe that no human shall kill an animal unless it is for survival, 2. They believe humans must get along with nature, 3. Respect and aw your ally if in his/her shelter, 4. Treat your allies with hospitality if under your shelter, 5. Ok the only bad one, Avoid battles but if enemy keeps on pissing you off then you terminate him/her. Thats all they really belive in. Plua they have nothing against Christianity besides all the bad that they say about them.

Anyhoo if you hate Marilyn Manson because you think he is a satanic devil-worshipper then you are ignorant. But if his music just doesnt catch your musical taste then there is nothing wrong with that.

And now i just remembered something that would fit perfectly with Marilyn and Russia. In Fight song he qoutes Stalin "The Death of millions is just a statistic" now i didnt quite get what that ment and why he would say it. I never would cuz i am a pasifist so if anyone can explain this... please do.

In the bible you can find... Gods, Magicians, Warlords, witches, demons, devils, angels, spirits, monsters, miracles, talking animals, zombies, etc.
Now... what you can't find is: Medicine, Science, Evolution,
Biology, Anatomy, Dinosaurs, sh*t with proof.
Thanks to science we know have Evolution, Astronomy Medicine,Pregnancy aids, Storms, floods, etc.

I just wanna say that there are so many things that are said about MManson that is not true or that is amplified to chock and increase his selling and people believe them without questionning cuz he is a strange looking gal and they developp an opinion on someone based on something that is false. It is that way in so many areas in our lives, in our world and it is just saddening

Yeah, peace does rock but i dont think we would ever achieve it though. Because there will always be extremist with low morality and corrupt minds, It's human nature. Even with all these beliefs i have i could still become a tyrant if tempted with power, and i hope that never happens. Take Napoleon for example at first he hated war and France then he became Emperor of France and lead battles. As Adam ate the apple, we evolved... there is no going back and now we must live with it. To renact history is to stab a dove a million times.
