i am aware that my post may be falling on deaf ears [or bind eyes as it may be]. i do not believe anyone here knows of or shares my appreciation for radiohead.
i saw them play live yesterday. i was truly moved seeing 5 men express themselves as i believe no other human being has the capacity to. such emotion was evoked in me that i was, at times, almost at the point of tears. if anyone is interested in their music i recommend going to Green Plastic Radiohead. i know that it is likely no one here is going to enjoy their music as i do, but i was so moved by their live performance yesterday, that i am now trying to let someone else in on the feelings i feel now. |

Hi Mastodon!
I know where you're coming from, because a group is only so good as it's listeners think it is. I have one cd at home that I love and listen to daily, and it is completely stirring. So, I can relate. I'll be honest and say that I haven't listened to Radiohead over the last few years, but when they were first becoming big "Pablo Honey" was quite a good album at it's time. I liked it anyways.

![]() Good to hear from you, Glocky. Pablo Honey was a great album - most notable for the first track - Creep. Funny thing, the album is great and popular, but it is often seen as the worst of their five albums simply because it has Radiohead's name on it. People know how awesome subsequent albums were. Good to know you enjoyed it. |

radiohead appreciation
hi mastodon,
although i like radiohead, i am not nearly as appreciative of their music as is my boyfriend mike. and, i don't know anyone else who is. the first time mike saw radiohead perform was years ago in a small club in chicago where radiohead was just a cover/introduction for the main performance of another band. at that time he knew they were special and that they would revolutionize music, and he has been keeping track of radiohead since then. mike gets annoyed at the many people who just like radiohead basically because it is popular or "different" without making attempts to really understand the music. he is such a loyal listener that when he first gets a radiohead cd, he refuses to open the cd until he feels completely mentally ready to listen to the entire album at once. similarly, he refuses to listen to any individual songs from that album until he has listened to the entire album at once. he also has some art projects "inspired" by radiohead. ![]() personally, while i like radiohead very much and respect their brilliance, i am not so attached to them. also, although i like their album "the bends", i have two other "favorite radiohead songs": "idioteque" and "i might be wrong". my current favorite artist is mimi goese, with her album "soak". some other favorites of mine include badly drawn boy, massive attack, neil young, cocteau twins, and r.e.m.. --g
