Dear Ronald,
I just executed one of the basic netiquette principles for a moderator: if there is a case of personal attack or insult or flame or flood against a member of a board - a moderator should take reasonable time to check if a person under attack is willing to clerify the matter him/her self. If it's not explicitely demonstrated - do your best as a moderator to protect the board. However your feelings might be, and howevermuch you will think of your self as an actor in a 'Wargames' movie - I simply have to state the following: Your acting against the rules of the board will force me to insist on banning your nick name and tracing the messages sent from the IPs similar to yours to prevent you of coming here as impersonator. Dear Ronald, if you find the board still interesting for you - please try to obey the rules of it. And please don't consider this message as an enemy signal - I'm not. |

Greetings,
I find it most interesting that the person being administered constant Character Guidance is a self proclaimed CONSERVATIVE. Let this be a lesson. Like Ronbo, most conservatives are Hate Mongerors. Actually, I have a more complete profile of conservatives. Look it up. Good Luck. |

Dear ILay:
An actor in "Wargames?" - I think not. I have simply acted in self defense - which it would appear was quite successful judging by the actions taking by certain folks who post here. It would also appear that the "game plan" for the opposition is to delete the majority - if not all - of my postings as being against the "rules" (of course ignoring their major violations of the "rules" governing the use of the BB), and finally to lock me out of the discussion entirely. Therefore, seeing the handwriting on the wall, I declare victory and will not post here again. Many thanks to you, Woland, Nonson, Oca et al for proving my points! Sincerely, Ronbo |

>> An actor in "Wargames?" I think not <<
I think SO. Because you actually said so. You posted on this board yesterday a rationale for your posting here, which justified it according to strict military wargame rules. (There are no rules in war itself, as you well no - only in wargames). The posts of yours which have been deleted, were deleted because they broke the forum rules which you agreed to accept. You were reminded and forewarned, yet continued to break them. You are welcome to participate here if you obey the rules which you agreed to. It is you, Ron, who have devised a >> "game plan" << for posting on this board, and you were kind-enough to spell it out in another section. There is no plot or plan to remove your postings. There are a clear set of rules which govern postings, and those which don't meet those rules can be, and have been, deleted. No, it is not a coincidence that they were all yours - because you, Ron, are the person whose posts set-out to break the rules. The forum rules are there to encourage a supportive atmosphere on this board on which the broadest spectrum of views can be posted. Those views may be be exposed to the sternest of criticism, and even ridicule, but PERSONAL ABUSE OF OTHER MEMBERS IS NOT TOLERATED ON THIS BOARD. Nor are hate-campaigns, spam, commercial messages other than in the "Business" section, or incitements to illegal activity. These are the norms of a civilised society. Anyone who can accept them is welcome to participate. Anyone who feels they can no longer accept these rules - which they agreed to on joining - should observe from the sidelines. This is the final time on which a discussion of the forum's policies and rules will be permitted to disrupt a discussion-thread, and is left here so that all involved can read it. In future, all challenges to the rules of this board will be dealt with in the FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS Section only, and if they are not posted there originally, they will be MOVED there by the Moderators. I am not opposed to discussion of the Rules, and it is healthy that they can be discussed. Forum Management (ie not myself or ILay, but those who run this service) welcome suggestions as to how the Board can best be modified to meet the widest needs of its members. These are frequently acted-upon where they are technically possible. BUT I am opposed to such discusssions disrupting OTHER discussions which have equal right to continue without off-topic arguments about "the rules". Dr W. |
