Army reforms

rycku_soldat,

The russian army is in great need of reform from the ground up. Do you know what are the biggest faults of the russian military? Alcoholism, then drug abuse, then an endemic problem with AIDS (One can understand why), and last but no least : DESERTIONS

Military Supplies are short or non-existent. These supplies are sold in the blackmarket by enlisted men and officer alike, and they include just about everything.

Civilian corporations (Read Mafia/or something like that) are the biggest magnets for just about every soldier that wants to get in the fast track and make a fast ruble.

Chechnya is taking adavantage of the LOW MORAL status of recruits who are being brutalized by older ranks, thus Chechnya's forces have achieved military successes where they should haved not been any.

Blame the very POOR performance of the Russian military in Chechnya to the lack of confidence, and loyalty in the military infrastructure that allows this abuse of power and the lack of proper training of these recruits by professional and competent NCOs and Officers.

Oca

P.S. I even liked this pontification myself.

Hello Soldat,

How abuse makes a man stronger:

In the late 50's in Alabama, a childhood friend, Darrel, took to stealing the money changer box from the wall of un-manned laundry mats. I even went with him one time and netted $3 and an evening of fun and exciment.

The law put Darrel in prison. On the first day Darrel was beaten by other prisoners and was forced to his knees with his hands tied to his back. He was to preform oral sex on other prisoners. Darrel is 6'4", 300 lb and when he opens his mouth you can see that he has two rows of very large teeth. May I regress to the 40's and middle school where Darrel (who, by reflex closes his mouth on anything that goed in) destoryed 3 metal braces before the school gave up trying to clean his teeth. So when the prisoners lined up for sex with Darrel he would growl and show his teeth. Guess what? Nobody would have sex with him so they just beat him up again and let him go.

Darrel was working in the woods clearing land when a new prisoner came; a Yankee boy with long flowing blond hair. 3 of the prisoner leaders fell in love with him, no-one in Alabama had seen a boy/man (aged 16) with long hair before. Yankee boy was orally/anus raped every night by three men. He cut off his beautiful hair but he was still raped every night. Yankee boy announced he was going to escape. He was told of the dogs that would chase him down and bring him back but he said if he came back in would not be alive.

They called the guard that killed yankee boy the baby killer until he started peppering anybody that said that with a near miss from his sawed off shot gun. Everyone vowed to kill the guard if ever in their life they had a chance. Intrestingly they never blamed the three guys that raped him everynight.

Soldat, I am sure that if this had not of killed yankee boy that he would be a better man for his ordeal. What do you think.

Like Hitler thought or Napoleon? I think attacking Russia always will be a bad idea.

The US doesn't want war with Russia. We'd rather be friends. But Eyeradi is right. We've already helped kick Russia out of Afghanistan - or maybe you've forgotten. I know the Taliban forgot - and look what happened to them.

If the US decided a "regime change" in Russia was a good idea, I bet at least half of the Russian troops would defect to the US side - if not more. You can't treat people like shyt endlessly and expect them to fight to keep it that way.
