BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The U.S. military said Wednesday a deadly explosion in a mosque that enraged the Iraqi town of Falluja was triggered by a bomb-making class inside the building.

"The explosion was apparently related to a bomb manufacturing class that was being taught inside the mosque," the U.S. Central Command said in a statement. Falluja residents had accused U.S. forces of attacking the mosque late Monday.

Residents said the blast killed nine people, including the mosque's imam, or prayer leader.

They had blamed it on an American air strike -- an accusation U.S. military officials flatly denied.

Two rocket-propelled grenades were fired at U.S. military vehicles in the town Tuesday night. The U.S. military in Falluja said nobody was hurt.

I remember when I was at a church summer camp as a kid in the mid 70's. We made bird houses with popsicle sticks. I guess if we had a really cool pastor, we could have built bombs to kill off all them damn Methodists or Lutherans as an expression of God's will.

I was a kid in the mid 60's, and we built the same popsicle stick stuff. So did my Jewish and Protestent friends. Of course, we didn't know what a Muslum was at that time, so how could we possibly understand all of the fun we were missing? Hell, Mother Theresa could have singlehandedly solved the overpopulation problem on the Indian subcontinent if western theologists were tuned in to the frequency of Allah.

BTW,you were right,growing up,I learned how to mantaine,clean and operate an AK,'couse I was growing up in the SU,were every(!)shcool boy and girl was required to by the good Soviet goverment.

Good point ahkmetsdfhdkjshf, but there are no Jews, Buddhist, Christians, Hindus, etc.. hijacking planes and flying them into tall buildings in Islamabad. Only angry Muslims do that!
