After the last EU enlargement, there are today 25 state-members in the European family. Some people think that EU must grow more, some others say that these 25 members are enough. They have been heard scenarios even that Russia will join the EU family, over the next years.

The only certain is that EU today with its 500.000.000 population,is a power which is growing rapidly, looking a great future coming ahead.

hhmm, this can take a lot of discussion.EU is a christian club, its not that easy to accept a muslim country inside the christian family..although some efforts are being made by turkey,I believe that it is very very difficult to succeed something good..especially in this day an age, with the international terrorism,etc..

I wasn't aware that the EU was a religious coalition. Please elaborate.

No it's not a religious club, for a start although most a christian with both Catholic and Protestant nations there are other religions inside the EU.
If you want to know why Turkey is not in the EU, it is simple. It is not a decent enough place to be part of our civilised nations. The Human rights in Turkey are appalling, they have no civil rights, in fact they have no rights at all. It is a vile nation and it has nothing to give to the EU unlike the recently joined nations. They all have potential, Turkey does not unless it starts acting civilised and learns what Human rights are.

well, maybe EU isn't a religious club officially, but it certainly is unofficially. The main religion is christianity(Catholics,Protestans,Orhtodoxs).Which are the other religions you are talking about, limey?Even if there are some other, the number of the people that represent them are too low,so low that we cant even talk for a "minority".

I agree with limey about his opinion for turkey, and I repeat that EU is unofficially a christian club, and thats why will never accept a muslim country(turkey), to be part of her.

Well being that the majority of Europe is Christian, it's a Christian continent. Even if the Muslims, Hindu and other religions are slipping in under the cover of darkness.
Turkey will not be accepted anytime soon, and good. It shouldn't be accepted.

I hope you realise the hatred passed between the throw offs of Christianity, take Northern Ireland for a perfect example.

I'm sure if the Middle East gathered and created a union, you'd say it's a muslim club, of course, but why? Because the nations are muslim. Do you want it to be called World Union, sorry, we supposedly already have that, United Nations.
