It is not a credit card, it is a debit card. A credit card company would clear it up for me in about 10 seconds.

I must assume that it was a Visa check card with the Visa logo on it. I doubt that Applebees takes ATM cards. You have not only the power of Visa behind you but the power of your atrocious bank also. Since you didn't put in a PIN number when you bought your food, they MUST treat the transaction in the same way.

My opinion: You are being duped. Change banks. But that is the beauty of banks these days. They treat people with horrific customer service and we just lie there and take it. I had all my personal and business accounts with Chase for many years. They tried to do the same type of thing and waited weeks to resolve an issue. Bank of America welcomed me with open arms. When I closed the accounts with Chase, suddenly they became remorseful and the branch president asked me what they could do to re-earn my business. I told them they should have asked that question weeks ago.

The art of customer service is dead in America. We have to find it where we can. I bet if you show up at Applebees with a picket sign, your issue would get immediately resolved. Tell them you will buy an ad in the local paper that tells your story. Wonder what Applebees corporate office will think of that?

Ok, I went to the bank but they sent me home to get my receipt, it seems they can do nothing without the receipt.

I filled out the form and signed that I had contacted applebee's and tried to resolve the problem but only got the run around.

I finished the forms and the lady says it will go before the review board and I will hear from them in 7 to 14 days to learn if I will get my money back. I think the board will decide if they think I am telling the truth or not.

I asked her, What if I had of had bounced checks because of this?" She says she would would work with me on that if it had of happened.

All over the office there were signs pushing their debit cards on unsuspecting customers. They can have mine back.

If the board rules against me, it will not be a pretty sight.

It looks like the bank refunded me the money instead of Applebee's. Maybe they will try to get it from Applebee's.

You'd think they would have sent you a gift certificate for a free dinner for four along with a letter of appology. Cheap fkkers. If you had a blog space you could post your complaint and I betcha you would get press on this. Probaly get a year's worth of free dinners. Why not write a letter to head office? After all it is a franchise.
