Applebee's triple bill me for one meal.

On June 15, I had a meal at Applebee's and paid with a debit card. They debited my card 3 times and when I complained they said they were having a computer problem and would try to get my money back in my account by July 4.

My bank says for me to call back after July 4 and make a written complaint.

I didn't know legitimate businesses could steal money out of your account without your permission. They took $100 without my permission and leave me with a verbal IOU. What if that had of caused checks to bounce and fines charged for non-payment?

From now it I will pay by credit cards instead of debit cards.

Expect more of the same if you use plastic. The shysters delight. I had my bank account emptied and 700 bucks more dragged out after that.Shysters go to crime school in prisons to get a degree in crime. They know all kinds of tricks to empty your bank account and the police are too busy giv9ing seatbelt and insurance tickets to help you get your money back. The bank finally got my money back after I quit a good job to take two weeks to clear up the matter. I suggest you give the banker back the cards and write checks only at the bank.Even then thieves will try to get your money. But with plastic it is easy. If the thieves get caught (By accident) They sit in jail awhile watching goofy TV shows until the police let them go because they wont buy their way out and they eat more than they owe.Slavery is still in operation in the USA because criminals steal all you have so you work for them. Most are taught it is right to steal from working folks because we owe the thieves for for not becoming socialist as taught by TV announcers that make ten to fifteen million a year. SaudiaiArabia cuts thieves hands off. After strike two they become honest citizen.

Are you sure you didn't eat for three?

There was three of us eating but we still were charged 3 times. I didn't know a national chain could do that to me and tell me they will fix it in a couple of weeks.

No more debit cards for me. With credit cards any illegal charges are stopped, pronto.

With a debit card the money comes out of the bank the second the company request it.
Now we have to get them to give the money back. They did it to over 300 people so I would reckon that they stole about $30,000 from the public.

After over 2 weeks they still have my money.

Have you talked to your bank? Mine would have already put that money back in. Applebees batches nightly to a bank. Forget the restaurant manager. Hit them in the checkbook. Dispute the charge.

My bank told me to first try to settle it with Applebee's and if that didn't work to come in and fill out a form to get the money back. If the money is not back in by Monday I will go to my bank and fill our the complaint.

With a credit card Applebee's wouldn't get the money for a month and I could stop payment on any double billing before it was paid, plus I get cash back on credit cards. The debit card is better for the businesses but when they take advantage of it people catch on and stop using debit cards.

Change banks! If they want you to do their work for them, your bank sucks. What credit card company in the world will make you deal with the merchant on a disputed charge? None! For a bank to make you do their work...say good bye.

The number one place for identity theft: waiters at restaurants. Your bank knows this. The are playing dumb.
