history

Back up to 79 or 80 when there were dozens of computers and operating systems. Then IBM wanted to hit the market big so they teamed up with 1) Microsoft system 2) Lotus 123 business software 3) IBM made the computer.

It was a huge success but IBM lost out to the IBM compatibles. When Mr Gates stole the windows system from Apple--(he even worked for Apple as a programmer to do the deed) his microsoft system sprung ahead but there were some errors in his system that made Lotus 123 give wrong calculations. No business could afford errors so they dumped lotus and moved to microsoft office. After Lotus was out of business, Mr Bill admitted that Lotus errors were caused by microsoft but; Gee, who is perfect anyway.
Anything anyone comes up with for windows, mr gates makes his own version and gives it away for free. ----He says it is free but he sets the windows price--- Who is to say that he didn't add $10 bucks to the OS system?
I have wasted hundreds of hours trying to get around using microsoft but I must admit; Mr bill has me under his thumb.

Everyone is under Gates' thumb.

Part of the reason that I would like to implement RedHat on my system is to get away from Microsoft dependence at the level I behold now.

I remember sitting in awe as my parents umpacked the Commodore64 on the living room floor. I was 5 at the time. In years to come, I spent countless hours making BASIC programs to satiate my need for comprehensive strategy games. I remember being excited about the 8088 chipset. There just something attractive about authoring a computer program.

Nothing like it

There was nothing like getting a couple of hundred bucks for a little program that some magazine bought and published.
Those were the days. I never sold any programs but a lot of my friends did. They always rejected my programs.

I sold my programs, bt my small business went under due to ease of piracy. Junior high is a tough market.

I really enjoyed the programs published in magazines. You are quite right, those were the days.

I havenīt felt this on my skin, but my cousin told my that in old Yugoslavia, 20 years ago, were some radio shows!
On that shows there were just some wierd sounds! Those sounds were Commodore games and programs! They were for free of course and anyone that wanted to play them, just had to record them to cassettes!!!

Wasnīt that cool?
