Just wondering how many people are aware of the intelligent design movement in the science community? Or for that matter how many people know what it is?
From my reading of a couple of books and web articles this is what I gathered.

Intelligent design is an effort by non-christian/creation scientists to discover the origin of life. Most of these scientists are experts in the field of biology and especially DNA. In their studies they have come to the conclusion that "molecules to man" evolution is quite impossible, and that there is an intriquite design/pattern in life. These scienists don't spend their time arguing the age of the earth but instead looking for the origin of life. They believe that there must have been some sort of intelligent medium that designed life...but they don't try to guess who or what that would be since they believe that would be mixing in religion.

In a world where respectable and knowledgable creationist scientists are ignored because they are creationist, and anything an evolution scientists must be truth because he is an evolutionists, I find this third theory very interesting. I also don't find it suprising that avid evolutionists don't like it because they feel it's giving ground to the enemy. It's kind of like, "it doesn't matter if you're right, if you disagree with us, you're wrong."

Very interesting, Lilly. It is true that evolutionists are of the school, "if you don't agree with us; you are WRONG". Of course, everyone with strong beliefs on almost any subject feel the same way. I know I do on a few subjects. It will be interesting to see what they find; I have a feeling it will be in line with my beliefs, so I don't fear what they find. The evolutionists/athiests though might have a good reason for concern.

Actually, this is not true. These guys are very much still Fundamentalist Christian creationists. Would you mind telling us where Behe came from? LOL. They merely are trying to make the same arguments, but without mentioning God, in the hope of gaining credibility. It is the same guys with the same agenda.

Actually, most of them are from outside the field of biology. .

In their studies they have come to the conclusion that "molecules to man" evolution is quite impossible, and that there is an intriquite design/pattern in life

Yet another misrepresentation. They had their conclusion written loing before they did any "studies." And interestingly enough, their "studies" have remained nearly exclusively the searching through literature to find stuff that, out of context, can be misrepresented as supporting creationism.

These guys are deliberately deceptive. They have tried through all sorts of smoke and mirrors to come accross as "scientists," but in the end, they are just an attempt at selling biblical conclusions as science.

And their claims are pretty ridiculous, by the way. "Irreducable complexity" of molecular biology is rather funny to read if you actually know science. And especially if you note that it is a spiffying up and camoflaguing of "the blind watchmaker." The ridicule factor in these guys is rather high.

In a world where respectable and knowledgable creationist scientists are ignored because they are creationist, and anything an evolution scientists must be truth because he is an evolutionists,

And here is another falsehood. People get accepted or not based on how valid their data and conclusions are.

That there are two types of Evolution i.e., Spiritual and physical (Darwin's). Also there are those that believe that God (who is both male and female) created everything from the Big Bang. So one can believe in Evolution and Creationism (but with a twist).
Peace

Talking creationism

Moses must have thought of that one too. if he could conceive the UN in his imagination it might as well have crossed his mind that evolution and cartoonism were gonna be mentioned in that forum

Yeah, but remember Moses had no sense of direction for 40 years.
