Hi, everyone!
I just came up with a new idea which I think sounds pretty interesting. It would be called "You be the jury", and what we would do is every week (or however long a "trial" takes, we'd enact a "trial" in the forum. The trial could be based on a real one, or it could be something completely made up by a forum member. Then, roles would be assigned - judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, etc. Then, evidence and arguments will be presented. The accused can also be any one of the members here on the board, considering all the arguments going on. This would be a perfect forum. Everyone else will be the jury, and will be given a chance to deliberate at the end of the trial. Then, the jury will vote on a verdict. For criminal cases, a unanimous vote is required to convict someone, whereas in a civil trial, only a majority vote is needed to rule against someone. This role-playing game obviously will require some effort from everyone involved, but I think it sounds like a lot of fun! What does everyone else think? |

Irinka,
You don't want to have anything to do with this idea. Keep in mind that some people have multiple personalities on this board. How are you going to keep one person from voting 5-6 times under different names. It has the makings of a scam. Bill |
