Question

If you are going to put a kibosh on insults then you really should do something about the offensive pornoish threads that are here..............come on there has to be young impressionable children looking at these things.

Somehow, I think pornoish threads are WAY overshadowed by the verbal violence thrown around here, and WAY more hazardous to those impressionable little minds.

Sec

I'll make the thread invisible until there can be further conference on the matter.

As it stands right now, Russia.com has gone to hell anyway. With personal insults flying every which way there is little opportunity for real discussion.

I shall be in contact with administration concerning this and much deeper matters.

Masto,
Last I heard regarding your moderating power, all you could do was to ask people to behave. Anything change?

I have been added as a moderator here on the Open Board. I can close/Open threads and delete posts if need be. Though amid warnings to end insults and base behavior, my power seems to be nil. I have contacted administration to review the situation here.

If I were to clean up the boards and remove all the insults that exist here, I would imagine that roughly 20% of the recent posts would be deleted.

I have also mentioned to administration that Russia.com seems to have nothing to do with Russia anymore. The Open Board is now a playground for people to sound off on American issues. This is not America.com - it is Russia.com. When I first came to Russia.com I did not want to see people like Dix and Ungaro duke it out over American politics. I came to discuss things Russian. I can't begin to imagine how many people come to Russia.com for the exact same reason as I did, and see men behaving like children - insulting each other and sounding off about issues that have little {if anything) to do with Russia.

I know that any action by me would be quickly called biased and disputed by members here. Therefore, I am trying to envoke the action of the proprietors of the site - action that cannot be disputed.

Keeping topics on Russia.com relevant to Russia? To a point, Masto. Too much of that and Russia.com will slide to Ukraine.com's traffic level. Besides, other than the "open" board, most discussions in the other board sections revolve around all things Russian anyway. Soviet. Well, eastern European at least. I say, control the animals here, and everything will be okey dokey.

Massy,

Look at the irony here...something decidedly Russian in concept is now open to the world...a few years ago that would be unheard of. You have Russians, Hungarians, Canadians, Americans, Texans , etc here....I do agree that at times the "slamming" gets outta had and ruins threads, but all in all its a damn interesting board
