Did Piteo and Bung really miss me that bad????? Have read some of these threads and as I laughed, I knew that deep, down inside it was their liberal way of asking me to pay them some more attention....
![]() Have been busy doing my start of the season NASCAR setups (OOPS! Does that make me a redneck?). By the way, for the ones in the other thread that called Dix a redneck, it is ME that lives in the south, not him... and, personally, I would LOVE to be at the Daytona race on Sunday! |

Welcome back, Legs
![]() Let me understand this... racing a car is called a sport? If you honestly see this as a sport, then visit Ukraine, every driver on the road is a break-a-neck athlete without a gold medal. Come on, it's not a sport, it's a really fun and dangerous hobby. Now, Ice dancing is not a sport either and should be thrown out of the olympics....so cheezy, some idiot decided to include ball-room dancing on skates in olympics, they must have had too much vodka.

I wish I could be at Daytona on Sunday! The excitement generated at such major world car-racing events is almost tangible.....LOVE IT.
Irinka - I don't know if you drive, but I agree: many Ukrainians drive like crazy - unfortunately coupled with a blatant lack of regard for safety. I have been asked on innumerable occassions to remove my safety belt - as wearing it shows disrespect to the driver!!! From my own personal point of view - every time I strap myself into my car, there is a little surge of adrenaline. I might only be going shopping, but it's me against the other guys - modified only by age, common sense and experience. Track expertise on braking, acceleration and cornering techniques are all relevant and can be transmitted to good driving on the ordinary roads, which may explain why - after 40 years of driving and over 1 million miles - I have not had a single accident over 10mph. My Alfa Romeo may not be track-prepared, but it's race-bred and it keeps me young and enthusiastic for what to me is the greatest sport on earth. Andrew
