It's not about capitalism taking over your wardrobe or lack of self-worth, it's all about respect for yourself and others around you.

Irinka, when I was in Russia.. I didn't see any of what you mentioned above. I didn't see any fashion sense nor did I see respect.

lomax,
Being a full time university student I sure don't have any spare cash so I definitely don't wear labels. I just find clothes that look great on me, that are feminine and fun to wear! And I am just being myself the whole time. Just like you are being true to yourself too. You might not feel comfortable in skirts and high heels, and I can't step out of the door in old jeans paired with running shoes. The last time I left my house in running shoes was to play tennis. So as Irinka said to each her own.

Jutka
Hey gals!
What are you talking about? Some girls look too stunning (like me for example.... just kidding), so they have to go out dressed in running shoes and old jeans. Only that way the guys around could survive .

As to guys... i prefer them to be just cool. If a guy want to fail dating with me he should be dressed in a business suit. And if he has a tie around his neck... he would better stay home .

Lazy people made "just rolled out of bed" look "in", so they don't have to put an effort, instead they whine about being natural and honest.

One thing that really annoys me about many American teenagers is their unhealthy obsession with clothes and outward appearence. You must comb and gel your hair so it looks pretty and neat, you have to wear something new each day or you're considered wierd...why can't it be like in Russia where no one gives a $hit what your hair looks like (for guys), or if you wear the same thing 3 times a week...such political correctness here, its nauseating.
