Imagine:

Privet! My russian studies are going well. I'm glad you asked--I was temporarily distracted by our hostile members.

I just purchased a couple of books...one on "Stalin" [published in 1931] & one on "Life in Russia."

I'm proud to report that I already know more about russian history than a few russian-born citizens I know.

I was thinking about starting a weekly russian history quiz on this thread.

Won't grunt, durak and the likes be disappointed as they run out of applicable insults...

Sincerely,
Natalie

Grunt:

It is quite flattering how much time & energy you spend chasing me around the board. I'm starting to think you want to get in my pants...

I'm even starting to believe that you were in the military & perhaps even that you achieved higher rank than that of a "grunt."

Perhaps you are just being modest?

Natalie

Zdrastvycte! Natalia...

Way to Go! How does it make you feel?

Some of the stuff I read shares evil with me I wish I didn't know about.

Other things just make me very thankful.

I feel happier about my life somehow. New perspectives.

I feel like a sugared yam even!

They are going to know you by your first name at the library soon!

Did you know studies have shown that professors have longer lifespans?

learning people are happy people I've noticed.

I like your idea about chatting about studies.

I met a natalia here from Russia on the phone. I am going to meet her in person at a russian fellowship here.

I like hearing about your world.

Imagine

(my name is emily by the way)
( i feel like i am exiting backstage from a scene in phantom of the opera..saying that)

I feel so good here typing in my box of white..surrounded by people intrigued with the mystery strength and paradox that is Russia...there is bliss in that language. It's like heated cider after an emotionally warm snow day.

I wonder if the posts that we make here will fill up all the blank pages that we have to search now to find the end of this thread.
