Dear Castlestormer:

I started the thread, and if I maintain the thread--I suppose it flows in the direction I take it in. A better question would be "Why do you care?" In addition, some of the forums aren't moving with the "vigor" of past years. I would be exercising "freedom of speech & expression," and you as well....although you seem to be taking on the oppressor, suppresor, censor, and dictator role more closely.

What is your outlook on the State of the Union Address? Do you have any more meaningful commentary?

Thank you,
Natalie

"State of the Union Address;" President Bush, 1.28.08:

**********************************************************************************
Firstly, in regards to my prior post, I'm playing the world's smallest violin for myself. I've been in my life legally & personally considered a "public figure," but never close to the stature of the President.

I viewed President Bush walking down the isle of Congress, and was utterly annoyed to watch the people waiting for autographs. He shook many hands, and many people took the liberty of patting him on the back and shoulder, and grabbing his arm. I wanted to scream, "where is the secret service!"

This is a lock-down situation. These people do play an important role in the government (constituents/ supporters)--but I failied, even in my mind, to envision people hanging all over the President as they would a famous musician. Is the floor of Congress similar to the players locker room after a winning game?

President Bush was nothing less than tolerant. I, on the other hand, might have had nightmares.
***********************************************************************************

President Bush wore his wedding ring and a royal-blue tie. I've never seen him wear his wedding ring before. His speech flowed well, as he gave an overview of his presidency thus far and discussed the policy issues and progress. We only saw him take a sip of water once.

There was definite [visual] focus on the current presidential candidates, Hillary & Barak.

The standing ovations, while flattering, were also utterly annoying. I would have stayed seated during his speech like the Supreme Court Justices. However, for the youth of America that might not have made up their minds whether they are Democratic or Republican--might consider this (isolated party ovations) almost an educational session. Whereas, I confirmed to myself--that I'm definitely a Democrat.

Other then being in a corporate boardroom meeting, there is no greater exhibition of "kissing a$$ and sucking up to the boss" then the S.O.T.U. address. Watching guys like Ted Kennedy applaud Bush makes me want to puke. It is a farce.

But none of this has ANYTHING to do with the thread: Putin.

I'm not being "oppressive" or "censoring", but you and I have been on forums long enough to know when a thread gets hijacked.

Dear Castlestormer:

How is it possible to intercept or infiltrate a thread that I started?

President Putin, I imagine, has seen or read a report on President Bush's address.

Why is it important that every response or reply to said thread, be directly related to President Putin?

Isn't it possible, that naturally, one topic will branch off into other arenas or subject areas?

Where is the protest to my discussion of taking flying lessons & acrylic and gel on canvas?

Who is "sucking up to the boss?" I thought President Bush is the "Boss." The State of the Union Address is political tradition, and furthermore simply and overview as implied by the title "The State of the Union...."

I think you might want to rally for stricter laws against graffiti! Walls are structural, and not for political statements and vandalism....but the vandalism continues.

Are you suggesting that I'm a vandal?

Logically, you don't even like President Putin (for reasons unknown)--and furthermore you've offered no statements of intellectual value to the thread in my opinion.

Then, of course, maintaining the thread (by whatever creative means necessary) enhances publicity and opens the thread to participation from other russia.com members.

"It's my thread and I can do what I want to with it! My thread goes where I say it goes damnit!

Puleeeeeeze! Whatever.

And as far as my not adding any intellectual value to "your thread", just because you don't get it doesn't mean that it's not there. But you won't have to worry about my not "adding value" to your thread any more.

The truth of ther matter is that anyone who thinks Putin is a good man and has made Russia a better place doesn't know his/her head from a hole in the ground. And I'm not charmed by pics of him fishing shirtless. He is a puke who has lined the pockets of oligarchs with billions of stolen dollars while his country loses it's middle class.

Make your dreams come true and marry him Nat. But watch your savings account. Because he will allow someone like Boris Berezhovsky to leave you penniless. Then you might change your tune about your sexy dreamboat of a man.

Castlestormer:

Don't get your boxer shorts in a bunch!

Maybe I just wanna sip a glass of wine with him in the bubble bath!

Natalie

P.S. I think you'd make a really bad boyfriend (for me anyway).
