1) What negative impact has this (media/television censorship) activity had on russian society?

2) Do you agree that the people who are in position to make pertinent decisions in government (and therefore impacting society et al.) have the uncensorsed information that they need to make decisions?

3) This is the "Vladimir Putin Delivers" thread; although there is freedom to post nearly whatever you like, where ever you like--wouldn't your criticisms and anti-KGB/FSB comments be more suited for, perhaps, a thread entitled "Vladimir Puin Doesn't Deliver & pent up hostilties @ the KGB/FSB?"

4) Are you probing to discover what I like about, or why I support Vladimir Putin?

5) Are you trying to make friends with me (in a diplomatic sense) or strictly to engage in political debate & sharing of viewpoints?

Well, I live in Russia, read Russian news and regulary talk to people. Do my words matter here?

I could have said that governors are still elected indirectly through people representatives, and it would be truth, but I'd better say that I prefer appointment (and not only of governors, but of mayors and district heads) rather than indirect election, and I hope it will be next step.

Before 2000 most people talking on Russian discussion groups criticized Yelrsin hard, and practically none spoke in his defense. Shortly after Putin came to the office, on Russian discussions, commonly known as “forums” magically appeared many rood and aggressive Putin’s defenders, monitoring Russian discussions 24/7.
True, but it is because Yeltsin drank a lot, while country was going to hell, while Putin began to rise Russia and lives of millions improved. Does it surprise you, that he has a lot of supporters and Yeltsin had not? I see nothing illogical here.

In 1999 Yeltsin appointed Putin as the prime minister of the Russian parliament - Duma
And this is told by a person pretending to know Russia at least a little. Study structure of Russian state power, before you take part in any serious discussion.

You might have heard of the Russian TV news show NTV. It was the last news channel from where I could get uncensored news from Russia.
Last? It is well-known western fairy tale, that with new NTV owners free press in Russia died. In fact, there're still many independent (or rather dependent from moneybags, not state) stations. And nobody with access to internet ever complained about lack of independent, anti-government, and dirt-throwing articles in Russian press. Do your search.

I'm trying to express my thoughts and hope to be heard, which I couldn't do in the USSR and now can do it less, than before Putin.

Ага, вот в том-то и дело, что председателем правительства. А вот что было написано:

З.Ы. язык-то попридержи. Я-то толерантно к личным выпадам отношусь, но будет обидно если забанят.
