Hi Iclei,
I think it is a matter of education. If I had to compare the well-educated Russian and German men I've known, I would say I found Russian men more romantic, courteous, generally they show emotions more. I find a lot of similarities too : thoughtful, well-informed etc. I found Russian men are more comfortable being a "man", German men sometimes strive so hard not to be a macho, that they may not come across as particularly manly. Might sound weird, don't know how to put that into words. I have good Russian male friends. I like their depth, education, and sense of humour. I think you'll have no trouble meeting nice guys in Moscow but Russia, like everywhere, has its fair share of men who you will not be attracted to. I always thought the alcohol problem is connected to a lack of perspective and afflicts women as much as men in Russia, just mothers have to get their act together to look after kids. If I knew I was going to end my days in the same concrete barrack I was born in, I might have felt the attraction of vodka too! |

Welcome to russia.com! I apologize on behalf of the other members for not welcoming you sooner. However, I like cigarettes (trying to quit the nasty habit) & "wine a day, may keep the doctor away...." Ochin' Pryatna! Natalie |
