No offence to anyone out there but if a 24 year old DOES date a 40 year old, either she's a gold digger or has some serious father-daughter issues to work out.

Why do Americans feel strongly about age difference? In most countries around the world, it's not an issue at all. In fact, women prefer men that are older, since that man is more likely to be established and able to take better care of his wife.

Most Americans live in a bubble. They have no clue what obtains in other parts of the world. So when they speak, they often speak authoritatively from the point of view of a typical American. However, their views often turn out to be naive on a global arena.

Go to most dating sites and pull up ads of people from Russia, Philippines, Mexico, etc. You'll find that most of the women generally want older men.

So, when making your comments, remember that America is not the only nation in the world, and that other countries have values and cultures different from yours.
