Hi there!
There was a time when one heard wonderful Russian folk songs...Now all one hears is pop-music on the Russian channel 6 (TV6) which we recieve off and on out here, in Bombay...Are the old folk songs no longer popular and forgotten??

side question:

have you found a better (more active) web site for this?

I see very little activity here.
