I wouldn't do it. Honestly. I'm from Moscow myself, right now live in PA. I was going to go to visit my parents in Moscow and they told me not to. Reson: we have Duma (our Parliament) elections coming up. But u know, it all depends. If you go alone, drop it. If you go with some agency then just stay away from certain districs of Moscow. Like stay in the center, but do not go to surburbs. It's pretty safe around internationall hotels, most of the time.
Sorry if it didn't help much. If you have more questions about Moscow feel free to ask: Akiseleu@astro.temple.edu ------------------ Anna Alexandrovna Kiseleva |

We were in Moscow for two weeks in June. Loved it! There was some anti American resentment. Pretend you are a Serb. They will love you! Just kidding! Actually, it was a lovely trip, the people were a little stand-off-ish at first because they heard us speak Canadian, but for the most part there were many people who wanted to talk to english speaking tourists. You will love Moscow! Stick to the tourist sites and you will be fine. We went everywhere and had no problem and that was during the worst time when the NATO bombings were the greatest. In my opinion there is no country today that is filled with such history, art, architecture, and beauty. The people are a little staid and formal at first, but then they open their hearts to all and are a wonderful people. With all the suffering Mother Russia has endured, she still survives.
