According to a Russian proverb "Чтобы человека узнать надо пуд соли съесть". How long is that? And do we rush into relationships prematurely?

You will recognize another person for all your life - and will never finish discovering...
But you can trust that person... And this is the clue to the relationship? - this is the question of faith! You should believe in that person - that's all!

How come they say two people become like each other after they live together for a long time?

Elegantly put...Lion.

However, I'm starting to realize the more practical reasons for marriage.

The greater question would be...

JUST HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE TO KNOW SOMEONE (OR HOW WELL) TO MARRY THEM.

There are examples of those who met and married within two weeks, and still together 50 years later...

Or the example of those who were engaged for fifteen years, and married for two...

Or the example of those who were married for twenty and divorced anyway.

*******************************************************
Interestingly, many consider marriage a "still" state (without movement) or growth or WORK.

The misinformed believe you get married, and that's it, happiness presents itself.

*******************************************************
