Sorry, but I'm afraid your way to learn russian may be long (unless you don't have problems with learning languages).
I'm from Poland, so it should be easy for me to learn russian but it isn't, esp. because of the letters. I can't give you any address in St. Petersburg now, but I can look for them if you really want (it may take some time). I could give you one address in Moscow, to someone who isn't Russian but study there. If you're interested in such information let me know (you'll see my e-mail in my profile) This week I should know whether I'll be in Petersburg on New Year [This message has been edited by Traper (edited 21 November 2000).] |

Dear Melanie !!!Like any other languages Russian language have got some difficulty to learn. But if you serious and want to learn Russian, I believe it is not going to be very hard. I was a student in ex.USSR, first I thought it is impossible to learn this lovely language, but I did finish University in the Russian language. You need to work bit harder for Russian language. My advice go for it, and I believe in the nearest future Russian language going to be a 2nd language in the world.
Good luck. Many Regards. |

Hi!
Learning Russian must be different for everyone. I find it somewhat simplistic. The alphabet was the easiest part for me to learn, and the grammatical structure is simplistic. I've never been an exchange student there, but if you are, I would imagine that you would pick it up much faster. When you are immersed in an environment where you are forced to understand it, you learn faster, and it sticks more ![]() Good luck!! |

Hi,
Russian Language is VERY difficult to learn, but VERY simple after getting rid of the alphabelts, the pronouciation and grammatical situations. This will take you 2 months of intensive learning. But a year is enough to understand, write and speak in Russian. It's a very nice language, simple and straight forward. It's better than English or French or any other to express yaself. I'm not a Russian but I speak and Write letters in Russian once every week. I read in Russian. You will love it. And your eyes will be opened to a new but different world. CHEERS! |
