"On the evening of the first day of the week, when the disciples were all together with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said "Peace be with you". After He said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
Again, Jesus siad "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you" and with that, he breathed on them and said "Receive the Holy Spirit"
John. 20/19-22

We know that the full 'force' of the Holy Spirit did not come for another few weeks, but this morning, let's enjoy and be bless with the knowledge that our Saviour is the same 'yesterday, today and forever'. Let's take time to allow God to 'breath' his power and peace on us and send us out to a world that needs to know the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

AMEN

I had a blessed day at church today. Yesterday I made two posters for out church foyer. We are all signing up to bring groceries to make 20 Thanksgiving baskets to give to needy families. Last year we did 15 baskets. I was pleased to see how many had already signed to bring things for the baskets. Each basket has a turkey and and the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner including dessert. We also include a bag of apples and a bag of oranges in each. We get the elementary school in town to give us the names of the 20 neediest families. Then we take the basket to school on the last day before Thanksgiving. The baskets are taken to the families and our church name is never mentioned. It is a great feeling to be able to show God's love this way.

Talking Thankful.........

I wish to thank the Lord for Mr. Ungaro, as without his constant yelling, and badgering...these threads would not have been created! As Ungaro became more and more angry at all those who choose to have a faith, some of his arguments have fact, and we all should look at those and see if any of these critical acusations are within our selves. He helped creat a "self reflection". Thankyou Bill, Thankyou Jesus! As Ungaro has sent info over the internet some of us (myself) have actually learned and grew in facts of the faith through the research...thankyou Bill, Thankyou Jesus. As Ungaro makes fun of Prayers, things in my life happen in a way, i must actually pray more!! Thankyou bill, Thankyou Jesus. As at times i get angry that one would make fun of all of us...no matter who....i am thankful i am healing anger........Thankyou bill, Thankyou Jesus. I do not remember seeing so many people on Russia.com who have extreme differences politically, rejoice in one Faith....thankyou Bill for helping to join us together...Thankyou Jesus!..........The Holy Spirit is one Celestial Entity...that Ungaro...has not researched and will never understand....until....a Spiritual Incounter occurs.......He can debate and disclaim the Book, Jesus, and Historical Accuracy....but the Holy Spirit....the Comforter.....will always be beyond his grasp....or fishing pole.......Today i am most thankful for the Holy Spirit........I am slayed by it beauty and power. Thank-you Jesus...for Bill Ungaro....he is being used by the spirt and does not even know it........what Humility!LOve to all, in this wounded planet .....Johnnymaniac

What can anyone say to Johnny but Amen!

There is so much to be thankful for. I am thankful that I even have multiple computers, when so many have so little. I'm thankful that I have electricity and running water. I'm thankful that I am healthy, strong, and able to learn. I'm thankful that whatever is said on this board cannot negate the fact that God is God....He is in control...and has a purpose for it all. I'm thankful that even the bad stuff that has happened to me in my life has ultimately worked for good. I am eternally grateful that the Almighty God of the universe would have mercy on me and bring me into his kingdom.

And I am EXTREMELY grateful for this forum. What a eclectic mix of people God has assembled here. I hope we serve His purposes well. There is an old saying for campers: leave the camp site better when you leave than when you got there. I hope this forum is a better place because we have been here.

May our God be glorified by the people here. May His strength, beauty, mercy, power, and love be clearly seen by all those who have the eyes to do so!

FOR THE SECOND WEEK RUNNING

I am just amazed at what God is now doing. Thanx Lenore and Castle for your comments, as they help me and balance my experiences in that I was converted at an early age and never got too far into 'heavy religion' or the wild side of life. I thank God for my Mum and Dad, who just took me to church, taught me about Jesus - and then left it up to me (in an atmosphere of love and respect) to invite the Lord into my life as my own decision. They were a beautiful couple who are now both in Glory.

Thankyou Johnny, for such a thought-provoking and exciting reaction to Holy Spirit's power and purpose. We stand with you in prayer for Bill, Rikbe and others.

May this week be dedicated to both seeking - and doing - God's Will as it is revealed to each one of us, to His praise and glory.

Andrew

What a blessing, Andrew. How nice to know you will see them again someday. My father was a liberal, union man all his adult life. I did not grow up with him in my life, my parents divorced when I was two. When I married a Texan and moved to Texas, he entered my life again and was a wonderful grand dad to my children. I witnessed to him but he was not interested. He said he had read the bible and it drove him crazy. He also told me his mother (who died before I was born) had a scripture for every occurance in their lives. So I know there is a grandmother waiting for me in heaven. I bet she prayed for all her grandchildren while she was alive! I am one answer to her prayers.

I tried to let the change in my life witness to my father. I do not know if he made a profession of faith before he passed away. Religion and politics were two things we did not talk about because we were on opposite sides in both.
