chiukov---thanks for taking the time to answer that question.
I agree with you that we should follow our hearts and that we need gods spirtual help in this harsh world. some might not suffer as much as others but just seeing others that are makes you want to pray to god on their behalf.
many say they are a christian, but many do not understanding what they are saying when they say they are. the word "Christian" itself means being "christ like". being "christ like" is not having the attitude that we do not need to depend on God. Jesus did not have that attitude. In the bible he prayed to God a lot and he was a perfect man. He still nedded him. One time an angel had to come down and encourage him to go on with his mission. He loved the people so much to see them suffer a little made him cry and moved him with pity and moved him to die for us. he leaned on God a lot. And he said to follow in his footsteps.
So being a christian is being "like christ".

I agree. Although one may not be a Christian, being a "good person" and working hard follows many of the doctrines of Christianity. I hope that everyone who works hard and follows their conscience, but believes not in the Holy Spirit and God, will not be denied admission to heaven. Some people do all they can to help others and work hard, but are too "realistic" to think about the Father and religion. I hope this doesn't make them bad people and condemn them to Hell, if the afterlife exists.

POMAH---You would think that good hearted people that do good deeds towards all would go to heaven although they do not believe in the holy spirit or follow the doctrines of christianity. But Jesus layed it all out in the bible the ones who will go to heaven.
He showed the requirements other just living a good life.
1.-to have accurate knowledge of God and his purposes.(John 17:3)
2.-exercise faith in Jesus ransom and to obey God.(John 1:12,13; 1John 5:3)
3.-A futher requirement for heavenly life is to endure as Jesus did, proving to God even to death.(Luke 22:29; Rev. 2;10)
its kind of hard to do all those things if you did not believe.
Even before the flood in Noahs days when evil was very rampent, there were also good hearted people carrying on their day to day living like to day.(Matthew 24:37--for as they were in those days before the flood, eating , drinking, men marrying and women giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark.)---but because they did not walk with God they were destroyed also.(Genesis 6:9)
everlasting life is pricless, its going to require a little work to get it. Don't you think?
