My pleasure Nonson.
Of course in Russian literature you can also find other varinats of pronunciation. Like Yahuwa or Yahowa, Yodhawwa, Yewe, Yawe, Awa:ya Well, and, as you know then the word Adonay (pluralis majesris of Adon) is used with YHWH then traditionally YHWH is voweled with Elohim vocals (':' under Yod, '.' over He and 'T' under Waw). But, as Waw is not 'mater lectionis' it should sound like 'v'. The vocal which should go prior to Waw could be the short 'ae' which was written by the massorets as ':' And as constriction od YHWH to YaHU will cause by the reading of the conclusion as 'a' to the feninine nature of Hiegowa which can not be acceptable. So, 'Yahweh' seems to be the correct pronunciation. Have a nice day! |

PF.
sorry for abusing your attention. actually I don't think it's of big importance how to pronounce the tetragrammaton. And religion was never my strong side so please don't consider my last post 100% accurate. |
