Re: Christianity dead? Not hardly!
Quote:
The very idea He represented is so appealing that He would always find keen followers. I realize that there were a lot of filthy things made in his name as well but happily it is to large extent a domain of the past. New countries with the budding Christian communities like South Korea prove that Christianity is well living idea. Christianity refined humanity. Someone mentioned homosexual priests. This marginal behaviour results from celibacy which is just more than a demand - it is a sacrifice which sometimes goes beyond powers of a human. I think that modern lifestyle where an individual is constantly pressed and excited by sexual images only adds fire to our impulses. |

You asked me:"Are homosexual priests amongst the 'Chosen ones'??
There is answer for you: "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord',will enter the Kingdom of the Heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. On that day many will say to me, 'Lord,Lord, did we not prophesy in your name... And than I will declare to them,'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers og lawlessness'." (Matthew 7, 21-23) So, let God arise and let His enemies be scattered...And those homosexual "priests" are His enemies! That is what we do expect through the Resurrection of Christ.

What do the enemies of Christians sound like, Jelena? Should Christians have enemies at all? I respect Christianity, but not all Christians. ( and not all Muslims, naturally )
If you dont mind I would like to debate with you on one verse you just quoted, since you seem educated in Bible : (Matthew 7, 21-23) There is another translation, which says "No one" instead of "Not everyone". Here are two translations of Matthew 7:21. One is from the version authorized by a king (not God), King James, The other is The New American Bible, which was translated by the members of Catholic Biblical Association of America. Notice the contradiction between the two translations in the first three words of that verse: King James Version: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." The New American Bible (1970): "None of those who cry out, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of God but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." Our question for Christian Scholars on Mt 7:21 has two parts. The simple part of the question is: Which One Is Correct: "Not every one..." OR "None of those ..." ? And the difficult part is: Why? thank you, Rain

Castle, I commend your effort to educate those who are in denial here. I think they will continue to insist being right in their own eyes. But, hey, you have to do what you have to do; beyond that, if they don't acknowledge facts and in fairness try to learn something, they will continue on in denial and even bitterness for some.

Well Rain you are in right, there are some "versions" like King James or some like it.But,however, the Orthodox and Roman Chatolic Churchs of Christ with they's dogmas, rules and teaching have been the same for 20 centuries and will remain the same until the second Coming of Christ and the rising of the dead. Our Holy Church is defined by the word of Christ, the lows of God and the Holy Teaching.
There are many "modernized" organizations who dare to call themselfs "churches" exist world wide. But everybody knows who were, is and will be adherent to the true words of God until the end of the world and of time! And Islam has sects too. I hope that you, members of Islam, know who have real words of Alah! With respect JelenaSerbia
