Never said I want my freedoms taken away. But what freedoms are you talking about? I can do the same thing I did on 9-10-01 as I can today. Well, unless you think having to take my shoes off at the airport as being so horrible.

My question to you is WHY do I have to take ANY discrimination? What the hell is so wrong with asking this? I'm not from this country, I have white skin, I'm lumped with the "White" group. Ok. Fine. Why then, can't I ask why being white makes me inelligible to receive some federal funds. Why can't I ask why "people of color" can get preferential treatment when it concerns their applications to FEDERALLY FUNDED institutions? I thought America was supposed to be color blind? Yes. That's it. Color blind, but not color blind. To make up for slavery, which EVERY white person in USA has to live with because they were all slave owners and racists. That is your argument? Beautiful. (yes I know I exaggerated, but read between the lines)

The Jesus Rapture Train doesn't stop at my station. I never bought a ticket anyway.

That statement bothers me because I don't need any outsiders to help me raise my seed. This includes government interference.

Ever wonder why librarians across the country are so riled up, along with countless politicians, judges, etc.? Ever wonder how it happens that this country can pick you up off the street, charge you with NOTHING, hold you INDEFINITELY and DEPRIVE you of counsel? Can you say "Patriot Act?" -- a little something brewed up in the cauldron of hysteria by the Bush Administration.

You don't have to take it, you don't have to like it, but you could at least make an attempt to undertand that SOMEHOW, this country had to level the playing field and Affirmative Action did just that. And when I talk about leveling the playing field, I am talking leveling it for American citizens who where born here, who paid their FEERAL AND STATE taxes and were disenfranchised for decades and never stood a chance or getting ANY federally funded jobs, scholarships, whatever.

That isn't what the statement infers. But if you want to rear your "seed" all by yourself, then remember to tell your mother-in-law to shut the hell up when she "interfers," tell the teachers not to butt in, tell the crossing guard your kid CAN TOO run into the street and by all means, tell the policeman your child can find his own way home, even if he's six and lost.

GOTCHA! I never made such a statement. You have slapped a label on me because I dare to have a difference of opinion and one that is diametrically opposed to this administration. And this administration has dared to privatize the White House AND another soverign country -- all for personal profit. You just had to lower yourself to slapping me with a label, didn't you?

Niquie... I agree with about 85% of what you posted... are you sure you aren't a Republican?

The reason I say that is that the right feels exactly the same as you pointed about the left. The right feels that it's the left who are socializing America and helping to erode the rights of the people.

The right also feels that the left has changed the equality of this country. The people of America are no longer equal and actually haven't been for quite some time. If there was true equality, taxes would be equal, entitlements would be equal, eligibilities, etc, all would be equal.

America is leaning toward socialism and socialism is not the direction of the right. Is socialism your preferred form of government?

Which is better: to give the people free fish or to teach them how to fish?

The left has setup entitlement programs across the board giving out free fish so as to keep people dependent on them especially for their vote... all the while the left is fighting the right who wants to teach people how to fish so that they could become self sufficient and build legacies?

The left is performing the complete opposite from Kennedy's original "ask not".

As for Bush being a war profiteer... kindly please provide your proof?

There is no proof because it's not true, Upslider. Same with the election. Bush won fair and square. The Supreme Court simply verified what was already a FACT. The evidence is overwhelming.

I always thought it would be cool to have affirmative action, but affirmative action for anybody coming from a disadvantaged background, including whites.

It sucks that a poor white kid who gets straight As can get bumped by some (perhaps even wealthier) black kid who gets only Bs.

That's flat out discrimination in my book, and there's no excuse for it.

Your right, C-Force. Apparently, on account of what happened 150 years ago, and even up to 30 years ago, we owe some black folks a head start. I don't have a problem with that. What I want to know is - when does it end? When are we EQUAL? Maybe "reparations" are not such a bad idea, after all.

What about the blacks who held other blacks as slaves? The largest slave owner in Florida, and the second largest in Louisiana were black men.

Do we take money from ALL whites, and give to ALL blacks? What about those whites whose families didn't arrive in the US until AFTER slavery had ended?

What about those blacks who didn't arrive until after slavery had ended?

What about people who are half black, half white? Does it even out, just take half from him as a white man, and only give him half as a black man?

What if he's 3/5ths white? 3/5ths black?

Now, what about the Hispanics? Are they exempt? How about the Native Americans?

Yep, sounds like a good plan to me!
