That's my main point, Brian. We see things 'our' way - God sees them differently, so Jacobs' scheming .... which to us is deplorable - was God's way of leading him out of his birth-place and into a journey to become "ISRAEL".

And God loved him.
And if my comments offend you, then please don't take them out of context. One can't 'speak evil of no-one' per'se, or you could not give (say) a history lesson. I guess as long as we put the emphasis on the word "WAS" than everything is OK. Jacob WAS a scheming rat. David WAS an adulterer. Paul WAS a Christian killer. I WAS a lot of things before the Lord Jesus got a hold of me. And I don't mind if you say that I WAS a total puke at one time, because it gives great glory to God for his grace. mercy, and willingness to turn us into a beautiful bride.

Thank God we are a work in progress.

You echo what Pauls says in Ephesians 1, (paraphrased ! ) ".....our past is dealt with, our present is 'works in progress', our future is secure - and we cannot start to try and imagine the wonder of the fulfillment of our salvation in Jesus Christ".

CastleStormer- We thank God - for you! I haven't visited here for the past week and was so filled with (so many) emotions when I viewed your thread. All I can say is a heartfelt "THANK YOU!" God's most precious gift to us comes in the form of the children that He sends to us on this earth. PRECIOUS.

Andrewblow- Love you, man! Keep posting, and keep exploring the amazing works of our Lord and Saviour! We are all works in progress! I am always thrilled to see people examine and delve into our "WHY" with a great love and commitment. (...and the greatest of these is love)

All that I can say is that I hope that you all keep posting! Your postings are the stuff that this forum is made of. I love the fact that you guys are ruling your lives on the basis that He is at the wheel!
