I would Jesus be handling our world situation if he were President? I would he translate "Love your enemy, and do good to those that harm you"? Would he be sending food to Irag? Would he be gentle with the terrorist? Would love rule his administration rather than Military Power? Would he stop the stoning of criminals (capitol punishment)? Would we have housing for all the poor in this mighty nation of the US? just curious. shalom johnnymaniac

Johnny

Good news! Jesus already answered this 2000 years ago.

Joh 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world.

Jesus is the Lamb and the Lion.

kingdom...........

Now there ya go again M&M! Of course you must realize by now even if you do disagree with my doctrine approach, and insight, that i realize that Jesus will never be President, nor do i think he would want to. My question was more for creative thinking, yet you still insist upon playing the "scripture" war game, with a response that appears very childish. True i am most likely older than you, but please, my dear brother, i was just trying to get you to think and imagine How our Teacher would rule the US. It is obvious that i am somewhat educated in Scriptures, if you wish i can play a mean game of "Scripture War", but i prefer not. Because we are of "this" World, we have to transfer the best we can the teaching of Jesus into our culture. Not our Political Institution, as i support seperation of Church and State. But i must warn you M&M that you can become so "spiritual" you are no longer "earthly good". We have our flesh and spirit battle with us all of our worldly days, so in the back of your mind...and heart....and spiritual eyes and ears, try to imagine what would be different if Jesus were our president. Would his loving example transform society? Would he support Capital Punishment? Is War Good? We as followers of the Great Teacher must creatively debate some of these ideas, so we can remain a viable force on this earth. Peace and Love through Christ, johnnymaniac

Would his loving example transform society? No, one example can not change human nature.
It is likely that he would be crucified again.

Would he support Capital Punishment? I think he said somewhere that only God has right on life and dead. Or was it about revenge?

Is War Good? Well, he chased the merchants out of the Temple, so he was not entirely peaceful.

goodness...

Scripture war game? Sorry, I don't think a scripture war game is indeed what I have reflected in this small previous post. What is reflected is a very simple response to your hypothetical question in that I cannot vision such a concept where radical presumptions are at hand. God the Son as President of the US is an ineffectual comparison. Although true, Jesus is presenting himself as King of His Kingdom and it is up to us on whether we want to be in this Kingdom. Creative? I am an Artist and have a pretty decent imagination but I cannot fathom such heavenly matters...in conclusion, in my mind I placed Jesus in your hypothetical setting and in the twinkling of the eye His Light chased away all darkness on the earth including earthly or worldly matters such as politics.

Peace

HEHEHE :) :) :)

Two genuine guys - both know their Lord - but coming to certain matters from different directions. Always makes for lively reading !!!

Put you two in a barrel, with only 1 copy of scripture, and light the blue touch-paper.......hehehe.

Great stuff !

In the Bible when Jesus is preparing his disciples for his death, he explains to them that some things must happen. things such as war, poverty, famine, injustice. No matter how f**ked up this world seems, it is all part of a master plan. No matter how much we want, we cannot change it.
