Is God omnipotent ?

The seed of RELIGIOUS CONCEPTS is in the same part of the BRAIN that generates FEAR. This is SCIENCE, not hearsay.

It makes sence that RELIGION is based on FEAR. Anything that is BASED on FEAR excludes logic and practicality.
In this REALM, I can see why RELIGIONS are so POPULAR in under developed and poorly educated areas.

Just look around you. The poorer the neighborhood, the more CHURCHES, DOGS and PAWN SHOPS they have.

Rikbe, do you have Pawn Shops where yo live? Probably not.
If you don't know what a Pawn Shop is let me tell you. It's a place where people get loans on things that they own. Television, Jewelry, Guns, Fishing Equipment, etc, etc. The loan is for 90 days and the interest is 30% for the 90 days.
In other words if someone is loaned One Hundred Dollars on a Gun, when they come to pick up their Gun, they have to repay One Hundred and Thirty Dollars. Most of them just renew the loan. The interest is now figured on the One Hundred and Thirty Dollars. In one year with compunding interest, the rate of interest can reach 300%. Capitalism at work. Most of the folks never redeem their stuff.
Usually, near the Pawn Shop, there are several churches.
People go their to PAWN their SPIRITS. Usually, that's never redeemed either.

Using your analogy, I was there myself - at one time. Interest was building up and I could not pay. Then someone offered : full price : to 'redeem' me and give me back eternal life.

I accepted that offer and have never looked back - except to say "Thankyou, Lord".

I have just read theja's comments on another string regarding the bible - which I totally endorse. You have done extensive research - fine, but it has still not broken through the barrier of disbelief with which you approach every aspect of spiritual things.

Your comments above are clear evidence of this. To say that 'personal eyewitness accounts' (or words to that effect) are the most undependable evidence, strikes at the very core of our legal system and democracy. You just CANNOT BE SERIOUS.

"HEARSAY" or "PERSONAL EXPERIENCES" or"EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS"
are known to be TAINTED by personal BIAS and or DEPENDENCY and IMAGINATION.

I was a member of dozens of Aviation Accident Investigation
Boards in the Military. The above metioned TESTIMONIES were consistantly at ODDS with MATERIAL and SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE.

The IRONY is that the BIBLE is based on HEARSAY, PERSONAL EXPERIENCES and EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS. Further, they too are in conflict with EVIDENCE and SCIENCE. Every BIBLICAL thesis
has either been REVERSED or DISCREDITED by EVIDENCE or SCIENCE. Having no SHAME, you folks just disregard these events and go on like nothing happened.

Stories about the ROMANS, EGYPTIANS and other ANCIENT CULTURES are supported by EVIDENCE. Not one story in the BIBLE is supported by any evidence. On the contrary,
evidence disproves every story in the BIBLE.

You are unfair with your statement about my spirituality.
I seek spirituality constantly. The current batch of GODS
are not a valid source of spirituality for me. They are
a source of CONFUSION, SUFFERING, OPRESSION and EVIL to
HUMANITY.

The attempt by CHRISTIANS to make their faith into some SUPER FAITH is a very dangerous move. Not much different from HITLERS attempt to make the GERMANIC race into a SUPER RACE. It will have the same results.

Really Senor Bill? When you say it is your family that is part of your faith....when you have looked at your childs eyes, felt the love in the room of your house and your loved ones there...is that an individual experience that contributes to your faith? Of course it is. You say you fill you life with art and theatre. Is that experience in the Theatre in you lone seat as a moment works, and remains suspened in you thoughts and heart...is that an individual experience that instructs you in true art? I hope you get my point, that for me at least, my indiivvidual experience is a base for my truth. When you go fishing and if you caught a 4 foot bass, and then ate it all! Would they believe you when you got back to the house? Would that make your individual experience not true? I understand the point you are making on hearsay, and myths which are passed down and around...but individual experience? Get a little shut eye, soldier, your bones are growing weary, and your anger is getting big...........individualy yours...johnnymaniac
