NZman,

There is a more accurate way of answering your question.

All GODS are impotent. They are the creation of people who fall into the following categories:

1. Insecure and unable to deal with their own mortality.

2. Those who use the God thing to control others.

3. Those who benefit financially. Although all religions are a SCAM, we could not afford to just eliminate them from one day to the next. In the USA religion is a big business. The economy could not absorb all the parasites within the Religion Industry. Most of these folks are probably unemployable because of the demented state their mind is.

Red face THAT IS A NICE ONE, NZ

The first and immediate answer that comes to mind is "warn them of the consequences".

The more I think about it, the more I realise that this situation covers a high percentage of folks. Many of (us) accept the existence of 'God', but want to mould him into our own shape/framework/life-style, etc. This is in fact, challenging His omnipotence. He's already set down the basic rules, given His own recommendations and stated His own omnipotence and right (as creator) to do these things- and if we then over-ride all these things to suit ourselves, then we only have ourselves to blame when things go wrong.....for some of us temporal - for even more : eternal.

Strange as it may seem, along with me loving to meet folks and talk over things and kick around with friends, one of my desires is to be here to warn folks that you can't mess with an omnipotent God. I know- I've tried, it doesn't work out well, I've been forgiven, set straight and all fired up again. Life is great when it's played right.

Andy, Why not

If we has the ability to think / question then wot's the beef with us questionin'

Sounds a bit like this to me...

OK - NZman..........(unlike Ukie) this time I read you.

If it were absolutely anyone else except Almighty God that we were talking about - I'd say "Yep - why not indeed!" - but it IS God we are talking about and He -being 'God'- (if that really means what I believe it does) - gives him all the cards.

But for me - that's the way it is - the way it should be and the way I want it. I have personally put both the theory and the practice to almost a life-times test and it all works out in both His favour - and mine.

Any game (for instance) is fine whilst the rules are obeyed. Take away the rules - chaos. Therefore similarly - rebel against the omnipotence of God - play to your own rules - PRANG .......been there - got mended.

ROUND FIGURES AND TALKING ETERNITY - YES

But I would qualify that by saying that the Old Testament was all judgemental and rules and regulations- 'cause that's what was needed at that time.

When God actually came down and did some things Himself(Like in the form of Jesus Christ)- he showed 'a better way' : LOVE That's why I keeps talking to Bill- 'cause I'm tol 2 love my enemies !! hehehe I know he ain't actually an enemy, but he keeps spookin me with his witchcraft crap and won't stop floggin his dead horse - cruel I calls it.

Seriously- when Holy Spirit brings the Bible to life when you read it, it all makes sense and you can see the 3-dimensional context of everything.
