Castle,

No contradiction in my position. No doubt that some person during the life time of the alleged Jesus had the attention of some people. The stories abound. The problem is that the Jesus story is emballished with parts from Mythology. The New Testament is FICTION.

I will grant you that the Jesus Story has some powerful teachings in it. Most stories do. The Shakespeare wrote some powerful, meaningful stuff. Should we start worshipping him?

LOL! Bill, you are one in a million.

Which part of the new testament is fiction? Please, I'd really like to know. Is it the lists of Caesars? Is it facts like Ephesus had a great temple to Diana? Is it the fact that there was conflict between the Jews and the Romans? Really, what part is fiction? The people? The places? Was there not a Paul? Did he not write letters? Was he not in Rome? Are you saying that the visions John saw, he really didn't see? And exactly how do you know? Was there no James?

Freaking athiests take more of their own stuff on faith then we ever do. Give me one fact in the new testament, and then refute it with evidence, and I'll gladly apologize publicly. And don't give me lame stuff like there couldn't have been a virgin birth. Give me facts Bill! Prove it wrong! And which part is embellished with mythology? Facts, Bill, facts! Who's mythology? The Greeks? The Romans? The Sumerians? The Babylonians? Give me facts. There aren't any!

I gave you Josephus. Next I'll give you Pliny the elder and Pliny the younger. Then one historian after another. But I really don't want to have to sit and hard sell you on Jesus. Don't believe in him Bill, really don't. But don't say he was a myth, or not real, or didn't have impact, or that he didn't turn the world upside down. Because even that is too ignorant for you. And you are just too intelligent for that.

It is funny, the Satanic Bible calls Christians "the people with the mildewed minds". It wasn't until I became a Christian that I truly see who the mildewed minds are.

Castle,

The New Testament becomes a fiction and a Copy Cat Story at the same time.

The stories of Romulus, Remus, Perseus, Mithras, Agdistis,
Attiz, Tammuz, Adonis, Dionysus, Zoroaster are all recognized as Fictional Stories from Mythology.

They all have the same bells and whistles found in the Jesus Fairy Tale. A human female is impregnated by a supernatural. This act reconstitutes her Virginity and BAM, we have a VIRGIN BIRTH of a Future Supperstar who is naturally a male. The Evil Rules feeling thretaened by this
offspring of a Supernatural, try hard to have this alleged superstar Killed. They do not succeed. The superstar goes on to accomplish some truly amazing things. Finally the Ruler catches up with him and he is killed. A short time later he is resurracted and ascends to be with his father.
Some stories promise a second coming some don't.

Not one of the people who wrote about the alleged Jesus prior to the New Testament spoke of him as the Son of God.
The Talmud talks of Mary being a young woman servicing the needs of the Roman Soldiers. She became impreganated (knocked up) by one of them. Along comes old Joseph, who is pissed off because he finds out that Mary (his new bride) is with child. He wants to do away with her. In his dream the Angels (Mary's relatives dressed up in angel garb) convince him that it was not a Roman Soldier who knocked up Mary, but the HOLY SPIRIT. What?

Pleeeeeeease, get serious. Like I said, the New Testament is a Fictional Comedy.

Is that a threat? Why don't you take it up with Thomas Paine?

My friend, this is the second time i have asked you, have you read David Icke's books? Much of your philosophy is based on his believes, except i havent heard you say, that Life is from Mars. I am not wanting to argue his ideas, but you both of the same approach to the existence of Jesus, the deciples, and Paul. I disagree with many interpetation's of the scriptures, but to just state the people are not real......makes me wonder. Even if i were not a Jesus Centered person, i would still wonder at the beauty of some myths, it saves me from the Ugliness of Humankind. dreamingly....johnnymaniac
