Castle,
No contradiction in my position. No doubt that some person during the life time of the alleged Jesus had the attention of some people. The stories abound. The problem is that the Jesus story is emballished with parts from Mythology. The New Testament is FICTION. I will grant you that the Jesus Story has some powerful teachings in it. Most stories do. The Shakespeare wrote some powerful, meaningful stuff. Should we start worshipping him? Bill |

Castle,
The New Testament becomes a fiction and a Copy Cat Story at the same time. The stories of Romulus, Remus, Perseus, Mithras, Agdistis, Attiz, Tammuz, Adonis, Dionysus, Zoroaster are all recognized as Fictional Stories from Mythology. They all have the same bells and whistles found in the Jesus Fairy Tale. A human female is impregnated by a supernatural. This act reconstitutes her Virginity and BAM, we have a VIRGIN BIRTH of a Future Supperstar who is naturally a male. The Evil Rules feeling thretaened by this offspring of a Supernatural, try hard to have this alleged superstar Killed. They do not succeed. The superstar goes on to accomplish some truly amazing things. Finally the Ruler catches up with him and he is killed. A short time later he is resurracted and ascends to be with his father. Some stories promise a second coming some don't. Not one of the people who wrote about the alleged Jesus prior to the New Testament spoke of him as the Son of God. The Talmud talks of Mary being a young woman servicing the needs of the Roman Soldiers. She became impreganated (knocked up) by one of them. Along comes old Joseph, who is pissed off because he finds out that Mary (his new bride) is with child. He wants to do away with her. In his dream the Angels (Mary's relatives dressed up in angel garb) convince him that it was not a Roman Soldier who knocked up Mary, but the HOLY SPIRIT. What? Pleeeeeeease, get serious. Like I said, the New Testament is a Fictional Comedy. Bill |
