Alliance of Russia and the United States

I'm going to suggest something which may seem outrageous to some-but follow my thoughts;
An alliance between the United States and the great country of Russia.
We had the cold war-and it is over thankfully.
A fight between two opposing systems which fortunately didn't end in all out war.
Russia overthrew its corrupt and distasteful system but unfortunately the turbuleence that occurred created a disintegration in its civil authorities and allowed all sorts of problems to occur-part of which you can blame the U.S. and europeans for not rushing in aid and assistance for its people and administration.
The countries have a common border in Siberia.
Is it possible that between the two-the U.S technology and the strength of the russian people and new governments can form a basis of alliance-bringing Russia up to the standard that they could have in spite of goverment differences.
Both nations have that most important of beliefs-that we work for the people and that people are important-not governments.........

Russia is on blink of a balkan type race war, I dont think consumerism in russia is confident knowing this. And I don't think the average american 18 year GI Joe wants to go to russia and get snipered in the cross fires. also there are nukes in russia. Russia is in a limbo state, much like South africa...russia is in the eye of the hurricane, calm before the storm if you get my drift...many will die before any resolution is possible.

I think this is not possible, at least not on the capitalist basis, since the interests of Russia and USA are already in conflict on many ocassions and this will only deepen with the developing economic crisis.

I do not support the system that was in USSR, but neither I do capitalism.

As a citizen of Th United States of America,
The general feeling of most of our population is that of good will and friendship with our russian neighbors. And hope that in the near future we should become close allies and major trading partners.
