Double standarts

Chechnia is a part of Russia -- Chechnia joined into Russia in 1859.
Now Russia only destroy Chechen bandits, Chechen terrorists.
But on the West (especially -- in Europe) many "protectors of human rights" say that Russia as though violate human rights in Chechnia.

And there is a which is the NATO member and its name is Turkey. In south-east part of Turkey there are 12 millions of Kurds (people of Iranian language group). Kurds only want to talk, write and read their language. But Turkish army and Turkish police destroy Kurds -- including old men, women and children. And nobody on the West say anything to protect Kurds. (There are also Kurdish diaspora in Iraq, Iran and Syria, but in these countries Kurds don't undergo of discrimination).

Where is truth? Why Russia in Chechnia is a "terrorist state" and Chechen bandits are "heroes of liberation struggle", but Turkey in Kurdistan "solve its inner affairs" and peaceful Kurds are "bandits and terrorists"?

- Talk? All my life I heard them talking in public in their mother tongue freely. I don't mean southeast, but even in Istanbul. Write & Read: With this one I assume that you meant having press, TV etc in their own language. Last year government passed laws to allow that. Pity that it took so long but things will improve in time.

- 30,000 died because of Abdullah Odjalan's PKK. What killings of old men, women and children are you talking about? Your country has supported PKK for a long time. What a coinky-dicky that all PKK arms consisted of RPG launchers and Kalashnikovs... You have fed PKK which was declared a "Terrorist Organisation" internationally and now giving smarty remarks about "Fighting Against Terrorism"

- Oh, really? Strange enough that when Saddam gassed thousands of Kurds in Halabcha in Northern Iraq during the previous Gulf Crisis the rest of the Kurds there crossed the Turkish border, found asylum, food & medical support and saved their lives.

- Peaceful Kurds are not terrorists and they're not the targets of military operations. Targets are the cowards running their terrorist training camps on money from narkotics trade, crossing the border and performing hit-and-run attacks not only on military objects but also on civil population.
A decade ago we had a president with Kurdish ethnicity. When you have a president of non-Russian ethnicity in Russian Federation you may compare the cases of our countries, but not now.
Unlike you, I avoid making remarks about conflicts in other countries unless I am totally aware of the situation and provided with unbiased, objective information. That's why I try to approach without prejudice to other countries' cases. It applies not only to Chechnian case, it also applies to Basks, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, etc. etc. I suggest you to do the same thing before jumping on other people.

Russia doesn't fight bandits, it cooperates with them.

Because Chechens are not terrorist, and Chechen rebels are heroes of liberation struggle.

Let me answer your question RomanRussian, it's so because it is how the US want it. Same as with Iran, before the gulf war Iran was a terrorist nation, during the gulf war it wasn't, and as soon as the war ended, it became one again. Coincidence, I think not. As soon as turkey will become a thorn in the US's but it will also become a terrorist nation and the peaceful Kurds will become fighters of human rights. I happened in Afghanistan, it will happen here. Alkida was with the US agains the Soviets, and during that time was an ally, as soon the the Soviets left they became the eveil fanatical people, as if they weren't when at first the American's joined up with them.
