While I do believe that the UN is possibly turning into a one world government in a way, it has helped many people in need, and one of the reasons why the League of Nations failed is that it was not well organised, and the country that came up with the Idea for the most part, the US (well President Wilson) decided nt to join, and Wilson predicted WWII would happen about 20 years later. And poof what happens about 20 years later, WWII breaks out.
I think that the UN is a good thing, even though I don't agree with it all, especially the geneva convention because in war there are few countries that would abide by these rules, the US would, but their enemies probally would not. And it weakens our military by taking away certain weapons like the .45 because it makes too big of a hole in its target. Kinda an oxymoran but oh well. So I think its a good thing eventhough I don't agree with everything ti does. -Edge ------------------ "What is life without death, what is love without hate, what is happiness without sorrow, nothing" |

US hasnt payed its money to UN for several years. They paid a lot in the begining yes. But nowdays they are sitting on their veto-right without paying membership. >>>>>>>>the.edge Are you american by any chance? You are so confident that US wouldnt use those weapons that I get the feeling you have nationalistic (sorry for any spelling faults) feelings. Im not that sure that US would use only accepted weapons. They did after all vote against the resolution to take the death-sentance away. You know Russia with 4 times as big killing rate voted for the resolution. |
