No, "Woland", you can't leave so flippantly. My side of this discussion is really more civil than yours. It is in your interest to promote Russia as a tourist destination, since this is how you make your living. I have as much right to express my antipathy.

You became confused by my use of the word "annihilation." I was referring to the controlled, limited "derussification" of what is now the Russian Federation, not to some kind of psychotic destruction fantasy.

You downplay every objectionable element of Russian society, as if we should all suck up to it as you have done. I am not a "racist," not a bigot, not unable to deal with other cultures (to the contrary, I am well travelled and at ease with cultural differences). My complaint about Russia is ethical and moral, and is based on my evaluation of real social events in which I have participated.

To get back to the original thread: it looks like Russia did play a positive role in the resolution of the Yugoslav election controversy. Perhaps Russia can be lured into other such participation in a world as defined by the efforts of her moral superiors. Such a development would follow my scenario.

I live here in Russia. What I post is based on life and realities here. What you post is based on your misremembered conversations with people you avowedly hate, from many years ago.

Every word you have posted to date suggests otherwise. Have a look what "annihilate" means, in any dictionary of your choice. Feel free to post the results here, to explain to us how I misjudged you? The vocabulary of the ethnic cleanser!!

The opposite is true. You are patently unable to deal with anything outside your own country or culture. I'm hardly surprised.

Russia's role in Yugoslavia does not appear ANYWHERE in the original thread. Just to remind you, your own opening words to this thread were: "Russia’s current political and economic situation is unsustainable ". Tell me how this has anything to do with Yugoslavia?

No, Reza, discussion with you is impossible. I don't associate with racists or bigots in my off-line life, and I don't see why I shouldn't apply the same standards to acquaintances here.

If you have something new to add, beyond distilled hatred, please tell us. Otherwise, my part in this discussion is now over, and I withdraw. I leave the floor to you, and you may pontificate and posture on it all you like.
