Here's an underground Russian joke from the Brezhnev days though:

An American and a Soviet Russian are comparing their respective political freedoms (that's a joke in itself, like a whale and mouse comparing the size of their dinks).

The American puffs out his chest, decisively says, "In America, I could go to any street corner of my country and safely call Reagan a fukking idiot."

"I have the same freedom," says the Russian.

"You do?!" says the Yank suprisingly. "Not what I've heard."

"Sure!" says the Russian. "I could go to any street corner of my country and call Reagan a fukking idiot as well.

I got a little Soviet-era joke, though its tough to translate properly...
A group of starving villagers decide to complain to Lenin that collectivization has ruined them.
They come to Lenin and say "Comrade Lenin, we have no food and barely any money- we are forced to eat our cows' hay! Soon we will begin to moo! (mi bydem mychat')"
Lenin looks at them questioningly, lifts up his cup of tea and jar of honey and calmly says "Strange, I'm drinking tea and eating honey- yet I don't buzz" (mne ne zhyzhit).
