Thumbs up

I find it unbelievable the Russians are bringing back old DISPROVEN AND DISCREDITED sh*t, Communism failed because it DID'NT WORK AND NEVER WILL WORK...the end. Socialism has been proven a disaster, Centralization has been proven a disaster, the USSR has been proven a super disaster and yet the Russians have choosen the anthem of the USSR instead of God Save the Tsar, a much more proven, respectable and illustrious past. Boy who knew the Russian have their head up their a**es so much.

In this day of nuclear weapons, special focrces and such what is stopping the rebirth of constitutional monarchy.....absolutely nothing....russia has all the protection in the world through her nuclear weapons, The left is a total joke, Lenin is a joke, Karl Marx is a sideshow clown, Communism is a disgrace, socialism is a bigger disgrace, the right conservative world is in, Russia is doing good right now through OIL and only OIL, no proven identity is there for Russians except. for the Romanov imperial past, the USSR was a total write off since the beginning....FACE IT RUSSIANS YOU NEED A CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCH BECAUSE BRING BACK OLD LAUGHABLE USSR THINGS IS STUPID AND USELESS.

Russia needs a constitutional monarch to identify with, the bolshevik revolution was stupid, the left is entirely stupid, Lenin, trotsky, Stalin swould have been beheaded by Islamists today because they are all super retards.

Resurrecting the past is always stupid thing to do... No difference between recreating SU and recreating Empire. They're gone. You can't return fallen leafs to trees, you should wait for the next spring.

Russia should have constitutional monarch? Look, sometimes I think she already has one.

Communism is stupid; alright! and so is socialism! But putting forward such claims as to switching to a monarchy is not that bright either. Monarchies are stupid regimes, too; and they nurture corruption, ignorance, and irresponsibility as much as a post-socialist state does.
Russians can be understood in their nostalgy of the old regime. At least, the layman would say, there was security, there were jobs, and there were schools. These are now realizing that it was not a good idea to sell all these for a pair of Levy's pants!

But it sure is only a transition in Russia. There'll come better times when the dust of the Perestroika calms down and clears the skies so better horizons will appear!

Wow, this is the most unintelligable discussion I have ever seen (except for Alex's comment). To write off socialism for Russia would be a huge mistake. The Soviet Union collapsed, interestingly enough, not because of socialism, but on the contrary because Gorbachev was trying to make market reforms. If you had read about the USSR's economy, you would have known this. A new Russian Czar? This is not something people would want. Why would we need something that costs us money, doesn't do anything, and cause scandal (like the British Royal family)?

To base your arguments on something you don't understand (ie the collapse of the USSR), MrOctoberist1905, is something I see very often. However, if you would like to read up on the failure and eventual collapse of Mr. Gorbachev's reforms, here is a link for you. I'm sure after reading it (if you do) that you will change your mind as to the reality of what happened to our country. PS: Forgive me if I sound patrionizing, as I am not trying to.

By the way guys, socialism is what has worked in the USSR for many years and provided us with health care, an excellent education system, and many other necessities and luxuries. To claim that it is 'stupid' would contradict the beliefs and programs of most world leaders, who implement the ideas of socialism to better the lives of their citizens. Would you rather have corporations running our world? I hope not.

Greetings, Soviet78. I'm glad to see your comments here again.

For me all Russian states since Kievan Rus till today's Russian Federation, including Empire and Soviet Union, are just stages of our historical way... I do not place any of these regimes over other ones, only toghether they form what I call "Russia". And every stage gives us something positive and something negative... We always have to take the positive, to leave the negative, to build something new over old ruins. I hope you agree with my post about recreating the past. Socialism as it was in SU doensn't have any more chances to be successfully restored than Imperial order...

Thanks Alex.

Certainly I agree with you that the USSR cannot return, nor would it be a positive development for it to return. However, we do need to take steps toward a stronger, better Russia, for the sake of the people, and for the sake of the world. In our country, I have seen the negative developments that have come as a result of free market capitalism. I would like to see a country where many of the benefits of socialism can be restored, while maintaining some of the positive elements of capitalism. The nations of Europe are on the right track, and if Russia can one day return to some of its old ways (the positives, anyway), I think there can be a brighter future for the country. I don't believe in pure socialism, but I certainly don't believe in a corporation run nation either, or a monarchy for that matter.
