Exclamation

I am just wanting to know what people, such as you, think as brought on all of these recent acts by the chechen forces? Russia has always been against them but why do you think all the attacks have been so recent and close together?

People are the same all the world over. Leaders can be idiots no matter where they are. In the west this is still a huge issue.

The scale of aggression has elevated only. From what media reports I get here, this is certainly not a new struggle.

Nothing just comes out of nowhere. Everything comes from somewhere.

Perspective. I'm a father. My son is going on 7. And if anyone tried to harm him, that person would have to answer to me! The pictures of the dead children ties knots in your stomach. But inciting and perpetuating further death only gives birth to a culture of death, hate and violence. Utterly useless, and gives vengence minded people fuel for their fire.

When something like this is permitted to happen to anyone, the government of those people is answerable to those same people - whether such a government admits this or not. If they do not admit it, time and time again, historically people have overthrown such governments - be they elected or royalty.

Will Putin's mind change? Or will his KGB training get in the way? Is he too much the warrior and not enough the philosopher, not able to see that people on both sides of a conflict fight for the same reason - the rights to their homeland, their food, water and peace?

Putin must admit his hard line policy is backfiring horribly. It has been for some time now.

Looking at the whole tragedy as a political issue, realize how people - civilian and those in power - are blind and reactionary, prone to panic instead of reason on all sides.

Something horrible happens, everyone looks to an immediate issue and neglect to remember the details of the past, fails to reason that whatever the issue is at hand, it wasn't created today - it got it's start and it's roots perhaps many years ago.....that perhaps if the correct decision were made then, the tragedy of today would be avoided.

Same thing for example with the 9/11 attacks in the US. Everybody is so horrified. HELLO!?! The towers sustained an unsuccessful attack from a car bomb back in 1993 for crying out loud!

Of course the dummies in power never stopped, thought and say "Hmmmm, we'd better keep an eye open on what's happening around the world and think about what we're doing, keep our corruption in check, keep honesty in foreign policy, in trade, in military issues, etc... to other people - so they don't find any excuse to come here and kill us for any perceived injustice left uncorrected."

Everything remained business as usual, until the other people attacked with fury.

No, for people in power it's often far easier to sustain a knee-jerk reaction, get public support, assume everyone in the world is a nutcase and send in the high explosives to do the work where talking and understanding might bring about peace.

Is it too late to turn back the hands of time and reverse such a decision to prevent perpetuating such future explosive rage? I don't think so. But reversing it will require great humility, the ability to admit an error and try again. It's not hard to do, except for pride. It's a mere synapse away from deciding. The mind can decide an issue in an instant if we don't let pride and other human failings get in the way.

If Chechnya wants separation and independence, why not set pride aside, use the brains we've all been given, try to start communication instead of confrontation on both sides, and just see whether letting them have their independence is possible?

If this were done at least a few years ago it would all be alot less bloody than it stands today, wouldn't it?

But if Putin - like other leaders such as Bush and Iraq - becomes too stubborn and maintain his stance, I think it can only turn to much worse bloodshed.

Let the dead from both sides be buried and let people progress and make things better from the ashes of this disturbing tragedy.

politics almost always been about greed....putin is as gredy and has killed just as these terorists....if they let go chechenia in like 1991 this would all be diferent...
cause if some chechens did some teror attcks then they would get all the worlds bashing but now they have a reason to it...just dont give them reason that would solve alot...but it never justifies killing 500 kids...the terorist got what they deserve only 2 living left and they wont live long the mobs will take care off them...just imagine the court...

Do you really think that if your country would have let Chechenia go in 1991 that things would be different? What then happenens is other parts of your country fall off also and your wonderful nation crumbles.
