1. Nationalize natural resources
2. Put the profits from these resources into the hands of the government, who can improve health care, education, small business growth, space exploration, science, the military, culture, and sports. (money is the most important thing, so below is just in combination with money) 3. Fix the army, the legal system and the crime rate, instating tougher penalties for inept behaviour among the police and army. As well, declare a war against crime, eradicating (through assasination and imprisonment) of the major criminal organizations in the country 4. Re-invigorate Russia's declining pride, once again gaining a leading edge in science, education, and sport. 5. Provide funding for small business start ups of various kinds (the small business sector can be a pretty powerful entity). 6. Help the pensioners and disabled. They have worked all their lives for us. Now its time to repay them. 7. Remind the people of their heritage, of their culture, and encourage them to be proud to be who they are (Western culture encourages otherwise, although it is not an act of banning it (that would only cause more problems/criticisms)) 8. Encourage the formation of alliances/economic cooperation with former Soviet states/allies, and, perhaps more importantly, with the European Union 9. Look into the Chechen problem, which started out as a war of money (Russian arms manufacturers, Russian oil interests, Chechen warlords oil intrests) and has resulted in the deaths of thousands of young people from both sides. I know I will get a lot of criticism for this, but its my opinion and its based on the most logical though I can make. Furthermore, if I forgot anything, please tell me. |

You chose most important points and state them clearly. But your view of Chechen War is a bit idealistic, imho.
As for my suggestions, maybe we should keep uzbeks away from advicing first of all? Seriously, I'm just tired of that "KGB in Kremlin" scary-tales. It's not original, guys invent something new. |

Thanks, Alex. I know the Chechen issue is idealistic. I just don't have a real answer myself. About the KGB Kremlin thing, it is kind of true (half the top members), but I don't really mind. We need someone not corrupted to run our country, and I think the people complaining are the ones who used to have power through their money who are now getting screwed. As for outsiders, they just always want to say something bad about Russia. That seems to be all that foreigners hear/say. They see their system as "the ultimate best in the world", and don't seem to realize that it can't work everywhere the exact same way.
