By the way, Russia isn't spinning it's wheels trying to fix the AK, as the AK was never broken to begin with.

YOu are looking at Russia with a Rosy googles...probably becasue you are married to one. Remove it and look again! [/b]
Voyager does not look at Russia through anything, instead he relies on his regular first-hand experience. That's why I respect his opinion even if I'm disagree with him.

I put UK on first place. As I have seen their soldiers skill are very high overall. And their equipment is as good as US one.

With no doubt, USA is 1. Russia should list 2 soon after USA. i believe we should accept the fact that USA is the only superpower in the world today. Russia used to be one from the military perspective, but all ended with USSR became history. China should be listed 3, and the reason i list China as 3 is mostly because its potential. China is developing its army, but i am sure China won't catch up with USA soon. in the long run, china may have advantages over russia since china has one unmatchable resources neither USA nor Russia can beat---population. not 1.2 billion, it is 1.4 billion i think. I guess everyone over-estimated China's econ development, it has achievement, but still a long way to go.

be realistic, UK and France all these old EU power will gradually lose their influence day after day, Japan can macth any of them, not to mention China or India.

New Zealand is up there.

We have one of the best armies I reckon for the limited resources we have. Also our SAS is tops .

As for the US army, pfft, man when I goto funerals and talk to my cousins who are in the army, whenever NZ does some training with the US, they reckon the US are ****, because the US knows that for every 1 US marine killed the'll be 10 to replace them, with NZ this is not the case, so we look after our soldiers better and don't really want to get them killed.

The greatest army is the US one. The Russian nuclear fleet is rusting away. Look what happened a few months ago when a nuclear submarine actually exploded - thankfully the reactor wasn't in it at the time. However, I fear sooner or later it will happen with a reactor inside. This is the inevitable consequence of the fact that - even now during the Russian economy's recovery - Russia remains far poorer than it used to be under the Soviet period. The national budget of Russia is equivalent to only US $120 billion. That's only three times the size of the Irish government budget - and the Republic of Ireland only has 4.13 million people. There simply isn't enough money anymore to rival the US in conventional or nuclear forces.

Sorry.
