Well, for one thing, as everyone always says, Russia was never communist. They were only 'working toward communism'. But as I see it you mean Russia's left-wing socialist stand:
On that issue, I don't believe that Russia will ever be communist/socialist again. But I do hope that we can use some of the good elements of both socialism and capitalism to make our country a better place. Russians need a new 'idenity' as well. We were once part of the brotherhood of communist nations. Today, we are a poor, desparate people, but stubborn, and unwilling to give up. So, I think national pride will return when we return to being one of the greatest nations in the world. Just my thoughts. |

Russia has nver been communist, only tried to organize it all. It was Socialism, government were trying to push it towards communism.
No i dont think Russia will ever be Comunist or come to ald times of Socialism. Russia has been on the rise since the fall of Soviet time. Great economy flow has been on an enourmous rise and rebuilding the country to a beter place

I'm sorry igrock, but I just can't agree with you. Do you have any economic data to back up your point of view? Because I just can't see Russia that way today. I live in Moscow, supposedly the best place in the country, and let me tell you, it's not a very nice place to be (unless you have vast amounts of money, which very few people do).

The root of Communism is Commune/Common. It has nothing to do with Stalin or anyone else.
To voluntarily share what we all hold in common for the greater good of all. By this explanation, communism still exists and flourishes in small pockets the world over, in Amish, Hutterie, Quaker and Mennonite communities in Mexico, Canada, the US and other nations. It works best when people have little and understand that together they are stronger and more able, than apart. And it works best when kept small, not when forced into a blanket ideology by a secular/military government. Look at the Ant and the Bee, see how they thrive. They succeed by living communally, each one looking out for the other. THIS is the true strength of communism. Not what people think they know based on recent history, but what really works in nature. |

Communism is a beutiful thing, when used under the right circumstances. It is not good when used to make a militaristic dictatorship, for then it will simply lead to the leaders manipulating their powers, as was clearly displayed in the USSR.
