Question Yanukovich the Next Russian President?

Since Lukashenko's ambitions of running for president of Russia-Belarus union were made known, I was wondering what Yanukovich might be planning to do. He has a chance of separating half of Ukraine away from Kiev. Later on this region could join with Russia in some sort of union. This would result in a Russia-Belarus-(southeast)Ukraine Union. When it officially takes place, Lukashenko and Yanukovich could run against each other in presidential elections to this new union state. I wonder how Russians would perceive that.

Or how about this wishful thinking.
Danger boy, after banging his cat, recalls the story that his grandfather told years ago- that he is a long lost descendent of Riuryk. Danger boy gives a press conference and all the people from the three East Slav nations- Russia, Byelorus and Ukraine begin crying with no restrain and elect Danger Boy to be their monarch.

Long Live Czar Danger Boy!

Rurik wasn't a Slav, so I doubt being his decendant will give you any claim to Slavic lands. Now, if you were a secret Romanov, well, that's a different story.

In reality, I wouldn't want Yan. as the Russian pres., and if Lukashenko wants to run, I'll f'n sh1t myself if anyone votes for that nimrod. Putin will put forth a contender for the succession sometime in 2007, until then, it's all speculation.

Eather Putin will change the "Conctitution" to become a dictator for life;
or,Putin will name his successor and he'll be "elected".
Eather way,the will of Russian people won't be important.I do believe it's about time we all drop the noncense about Russia being any kind of a democracy.Even SDR sees it now.

I don't see how Russian voters would vote for somebody as "provitsial'nyi" as Lukashenko and Yanokovich. But again stranger things have happened.
