Dear Mikeawerko!
German plan for estonians were like this: all estonians should deported to Siberia were for them are given land for living. We were not part of so called master race: we were considered as close to master race or what ever mambo jambo those nazi ideologists considered.
Joining SS was volutary thing to do. As I told before most of estonians joined 20. waffen SS divise in the end of war. They were equipped and trained in Estonia and were sent straight to front (iwch were in this time in the soil of Estonia already). So no nazi ideology training were included. There were just no time for this. Btw do you know that beside 100000 estonians in waffen SS there were almost 400000 russians in waffen ss too? If there were so high racial standards how you can explain this. And they all were volunteers too.
And again: Nurnberg process proved that waffen SS units were not guilty in war crimes as units. Few of them were sentenced personally but not as unit. So I see no problem if I put flowers on my grandfathers brother grave and remember him.

Russian militants of Waffen SS should have been punished as well as any others, moreover, as traitors. And they were punished. It's not a justification.

There were no Russian SS units other than a Byelorussian Kaminski brigade and some "Don Cossack" unit that purported to represent the nation of "Cossackia."

The Vlasov army wasn't involved with war crimes and never accepted nazi ideology.

So you CAN understand that waffen SS units were not all criminal. Nice. Try to imagine now that estonian SS units were with same attitude as Vlassovs.

Minor difference: you Balts believed in what your Teutonic masters fed you.

Yum yum.

There were no Russian SS units. There were Estonian and Latvian ones though.

Vlasov's army rejected Nazism. Kaminski's group was Byelorussian and the Don Cossack group in the Balkans supported the fictitious Nazi state of "Cossackia."

Baltic Nazis were found gulity of war crimes by the West.

Learn the difference between SS and non-SS.
