You are right, now I have the formal right to protest (in fact it is VERY limited). But it is useless. Nobody listens to protests if they come from people without money. So you may speak and write what you want - it has no influence on anything.

Marita, so you see you have more rights than under communism. Furthermore, do you have the right to own property? To start a business? To sue? To visit any beach you want (more relevant in Ukraine)? To be free to wear whatever you like? To sit here and write online that you hate Putin?

I think you marginalize the changes that have happened in Russia, and instead focus on the economic collapse brought on by a transition from a dilapidated and antidevullian system to a modern one that has been proven to work in every Western civilized country. This strikes me as odd since your number one gripe with the current system resides primarily with the distribution of wealth, yet what you conveniently forget is that during CCCP the Party's top members were in fact no different from the elites that you so hate (many times they are actually former top Party officials). I'm happy that you think materialism is that important.

To be honest, where else in the world can a man/woman without money influence anything? Lenin had the backing of Germany.... Maybe what you need is a foreign investor in your communist revolution? I'm being facetious of course, but your complaint doesn't make sense to me. I wonder whether you naively believe that having no capital somehow stops you from making a mark on the world. Also, is your complaint an inditement of the Russian people as a whole? For if they only listen to the rich then like I said, Russians and Americans are more alike than ever.

While I'm usually harsh on communists/socialists, I actually think a divergent viewpoint is quite healthy for society. I hope you'll continue to do whatever it is you do, but realize that under a totalitarian regime, if you were to try and attempt to do the very same thing, you would be shoveling snow in Sibr by now.
