I don't think Ukrainians are happy working as a cheap labor force without any social guarantees. Nevertheless, there are many of them here in Russia. Poverty and starvation make them look for cheap and hard work abroad.
It is not nice to consider nations as little children. Belorussian nation doesn't need any exterior "help" in its historical choice.

Belarussians are a little richer than Ukrainians cause they didn't go through such breakdown as Russia or Ukraine who converted to capitalism had.Belarussian economy is very stable and still very socialistic.it's very weird and surprising that Belarus keeps up without free market while north Korea and Cuba are starving.maybe Lukashenko spends all state income very wisely like Sweden does.

So maybe Lukashenko is a good fellow and it's not quite a time to bash belarus for being a child and such?

"Russia was always slowing down national identity process of Belarussians.they are passive and have no elites who would make this nation feel like a real nation with its original culture and own language.

Belarussians are like a little child who always obeys and listens to its mother Russia.sooner or later they will grow up and rebel against Russia.Ukrainians needed some time, they went working in the West as cheap labour force.they saw a difference in life standards between Germany or Poland and former USSR.Belarussians will see this difference someday too."

*************************

More like anti-Russian Polish nationalists seek to create discord between Russians and Belarussians who are as close if not closer to each other when compared to the English and Welsh.

Seriously, Polish nationalism severely distorts reality.

so what about similarity between Russians and Belarussians? it can change anytime.western Ukrainians are no close to Russia.Russia always turned Lithuanians,Ukrainians and Belarussians against Poland although Belarussians and Ukrainians had better under Polish reign than rotting in Russian prison of nations.

mikeaverko, you accuse Polish nationalists of something that Russians have done for ages.Russia wants to have safe borders as well as Poland.you can't engage in other's internal affairs.
