Hmm... Kaliningrad? Why not Smolensk, why not Moscow, why not all our territory up to Urals?

no,no.it's not about expansion.however Stalin should give Kaliningrad to Poland but unfortuanetely he was too mean even for that.it's about geopolitics.how can we be trusted Russia's ally if we still have the border with you?

Unhappy

Lewski, the things that you are talking about are understandable. I would like to see all slavs getting togather as well..But I think this is just something that we want only because of the so called "brotherhood" feeling. But in reallity our countries won't make it togather.Neither in their politics interests, nor in the economics. Russia can't give as much of political and economical support to the Estern countries as Western Europe or US. THus, for the closest 30 years at least..there is a small possibility for slavic countries to ally. Yeah..Unfortunatly.

Privet...
It is not true, and I strongly disagree with you...
Slav world does share a lot, and almost everything is common for us... again religion, tradition, language... the eu hasn't got these basic principals, it is likely eu to be in big danger rather that the Slav sojuz...
also when you mentioned Russia, and Russia giving economical and political support to eastern Europe, again here you are wrong, Russia is still recovering and is not standing the chance to give or even help the eastern Europe, because of very simple example, if Russia was able to do so, they wouldn't have allowed any eastern European country to join the EU...
About the sojuz, it has been said by Kremlin official, and they are more optimistic than you, the year they have given is 2016, to begin reforming for the future reunification...

Michael:

Stalin gave the Poles plenty of German territory in the west.

Kaliningrad/Koenigsburg is arguably more a part of Germany than Poland.

In the 19th century, Russia liberated Serbia and Bulgaria, while giving Finland the greatest autonmy of any European nation under an empire. Face it, Poland over the course of history has done some not so nice things to Russia.

Alex:

Yes, modern day Ukraine is ancient Russia and the ancestors of the Bosnian Muslims, Croats and Serbs originate from that territory.

mikeaverko.Kaliningrad (Krolewiec,Konigsberg) is more German than Polish but more Polish than Russian.it was a Polish feud from 1466 to 1657.Germans stayed there thanks to Polish kind kings who had too many enemies and not much time to take care of this fifth column.
that's a fact that Poles hasn't ever made anything nice to Russia but no one has ever done so much evil to Poland as Russia, maybe only Germany. And we aren't nice for ones who hurt us.Russia only liberated Poland from Nazis and gave it some postgerman lands but at the same time took away lands twice bigger and enforced inhuman communist regime.

When applied to the Russian view, your rationale legitimizes Russian attitudes towards Poland.

Note my earlier points about Finland, Bulgaria and Serbia/Montenegro.
