RussiaEurope collision. Reasons, consequences.

I’d like to start a discussion not on ‘who’s right in the conflict with Georgia’, but about what is the reason of such position of Russia and Europe and USA.

I think it all started with the beginning of ‘Putin reign’. When he was visiting Europe, USA trying to insure them of our good intentions and eagerness to become a member of the family. But he got no answer, no mutual desire to be partners. So he turned to East.
And I agree with him. It’s a better way to Russia to give up the idea of becoming a respected partner, an equal in Europe. We’ve got to make friends with those nations who really seek our support. It’s time to stop sacrificing our interest to please “the impossible to be pleased by Russia” West. We can make an alliance with Eastern countries.
And I don’t understand why Europe can’t see it. Europe can loose much more from this situation than they think. It can’t dictate Russia, so there is only one way out.
What do you think about it?

I think we have alot to lose from russia out of this but then i think we also gain alot from the other countries in the region pipe lines that do not come from russia etc.

also russian relations with china and such are not at an all time high now either. there actions in georgia whether russia truly believe them to be good has push the majority of the world towards the western powers including china.

almost every country on earth revoked the actions when they occured
